IQ Holders Stake a Record 1.5 Billion HiIQ

IQ holders have staked a record 2.5 billion [HiIQ](https://iq.braindao.org/dashboard/stake), with the majority of stakers locking up their tokens for over 3 years. IQ holders have staked more than 700 million IQ tokens with HiIQ.

Back in November 2022, IQ announced the IQ token’s new halvening tokenomics model which triples the rewards for IQ stakers and increases the rewards for early contributors to IQ.wiki over the next 12 months. This model provides higher initial emissions to incentivize early adopters and gradually lowers emissions to ensure long-term sustainability. **Today, [BrainDAO](https://braindao.org/) is introducing the largest-ever update to the IQ token with the launch of [BrainDAO.org](https://braindao.org/) and the brand-new [BrainDAO IQ Dashboard](https://iq.braindao.org/dashboard). In addition to the launch of the all-new [IQ.wiki](https://iq.wiki/) platform in October, these changes represent the largest improvements and upgrades to the IQ infrastructure to date.**

In addition to providing greater rewards to early adopters, the new model makes the IQ token more sustainable. Every year IQ emissions will halve, sustainably decreasing emissions over time until they dip below 1 IQ minted per month in August of 2050 ensuring that the IQ token’s maximum supply cap of 21 billion tokens is never breached.

The new tokenomics will also help grow BrainDAO’s diversified treasury with assets such as IQ, Ethereum, stablecoins, and blue chip NFTs which back the IQ token. As part of the tokenomics update, IQ tokens will also go to the IQ.wiki company allowing for hiring more developers and directing greater resources toward growing the IQ.wiki platform and the IQ ecosystem. The new model also dedicates IQ token rewards to the upcoming NFT gauges system and the Brainies NFT collection. Brainies will be the first NFT collection with real DeFi rewards and will bring new value to the IQ ecosystem. Over time there are plans to add more blue chip NFT collections to the NFT gauges.

[Hashmasks](https://iq.wiki/wiki/hashmasks) were one of the first generative art NFTs to gain traction. The collection launched in January of 2021, with 16,384 unique digital portraits, created by over 70 artists globally. Unlike most NFTs, where the rarity of all traits is set out by the creators, Hashmasks have two layers of scarcity: the creators provided an explicit set of traits to provide general guidance to the consumer but also created implicit traits that have not been explained by the creators. The most unique trait of a Hashamask however is its name since no two Hasmasks can have the same name. Holders can give their Hashmask a name by burning Name Change Tokens (NCTs). Pudgy Penguins launched in July 2021 and quickly rose to prominence getting covered in a New York Times Column just one month later. The collection has grown rapidly over the last few months with the launch of a media arm, physical toys, and a clothing line after the collection. We’ve also integrated [The Graph](https://iq.wiki/wiki/the-graph), a decentralized protocol for indexing and querying data in networks like Ethereum and IPFS. To ensure IQ.wiki is fully Web3 we’ve set up a new [IQ.wiki Blog](https://iq.wiki/blog) which is powered by Mirror, the leading Web3 publishing solution.

We decided to build IQ.wiki on Polygon, the leading Ethereum scaling solution, to ensure that the platform is at the heart of the Ethereum ecosystem and can scale to support large numbers of contributors. To ensure a gasless experience for all IQ.wiki contributors we’ve integrated the OpenZeppelin defender relayer.

As part of the launch of the new site, Everipedia is rebranding as IQ.wiki. The Everipedia name came from the idea of building the encyclopedia of everything. In 2018, we moved Everipedia onto the blockchain and launched the IQ token for greater transparency and to ensure our users could be rewarded for their contributions. After the launch of the token, our editor base shifted and we saw a lot of interest in our pages covering the crypto space.

Over the past few years NFTs, DeFi, and the pace of innovation in Web3 have exploded. With the rebranding of Everipedia to IQ.wiki, and the launch of the new platform we are also making some changes to leadership and structure. Everipedia’s longtime Chief Community Officer Navin Vethanayagam will become the Chief Brain of IQ.wiki. Cesar Rodriguez, Everipedia’s Director of Engineering who led the development of the new platform will become the Chief Technology Officer of IQ.wiki. Navin and Cesar will also serve as the Galaxy Brain and Chief Brain Officer of BrainDAO, the DAO which manages the IQ token. Everipedia Co-founder and CEO Theodor Forselius as well as CFO and COO Suchet Dhindsa will move to a new parent company dedicated more broadly to investing in the future of knowledge. Everipedia co-founders Sam Kazemian and Travis Moore will also remain in the parent company as board members. This new structure will allow Navin and Cesar to focus on leading the growth of the IQ.wiki platform and for the Everipedia co-founders to focus on broader strategic goals for the company and the whole ecosystem.

BrainDAO has been steadily accumulating ETH over time. ETH isn’t the only asset that BrainDAO has accumulated since its launch. sfrxETH is a ERC-4626 vault designed to accrue the staking yield of the Frax ETH validators. At any time, frxETH can be exchanged for sfrxETH by depositing it into the sfrxETH vault, which allows users to earn staking yield on their frxETH.

By holding highly liquid stablecoins and Staked Frax Ethereum, BrainDAO provides the IQ token with more stability and protection during bear markets. While BrainDAO’s exposure to blue chip NFTs, the IQ token itself, and other assets allow the token to grow more quickly during bull markets.

## BrainDAO introduces the largest-ever update to the IQ token

After the launch of the all-new IQ.wiki platform, [BrainDAO](https://braindao.org/) has introduced the largest-ever update to the IQ token with the launch of [BrainDAO.org](https://braindao.org/) and the brand-new [BrainDAO IQ Dashboard](https://iq.braindao.org/dashboard). 

The IQ token’s new halvening tokenomics model increases the rewards for IQ stakers and early contributors to IQ.wiki over the next 12 months. The model provides higher initial emissions to incentivize early adopters and gradually lowers emissions to ensure long-term sustainability. The IQ token is backed by the BrainDAO treasury and the treasury is fully governed by IQ token stakers. BrainDAO holds a diversified portfolio of IQ tokens, ethereum, stablecoins, blue chip NFTs, and other assets. 

Everipedia has been steadily accumulating ETH over time through Olympus Pro bonds. ETH isn’t the only asset that BrainDAO has accumulated since its launch. The BrainDAO treasury has also been accumulating FRAX stablecoins through the Time-Weighted Average Market Maker (TWAMM) on Fraxswap.

## BrainApe is up for Licensing on Feature

BrainApe, the Bored Ape who leads BrainDAO and the IQ token, is now up for licensing on [feature.io](https://feature.io/licensing/bayc?id=9665), a leading Web3 studio and licensing platform that has worked with Coinbase, Netflix, and more. The IQ token now has over $3 million in Liquidity on Fraxswap

The [proposal to launch FXS rewards](https://snapshot.everipedia.com/#/proposal/0xd8f68ecb7aa7a397b36b560b9f367a5ab5fe4af8a529cde12d71a86240e9e396) passed with overwhelming support, so now anyone can earn FXS and IQ tokens on Frax Finance by providing liquidity to the [FRAX/IQ pair](https://app.frax.finance/staking/fraxswap-frax-iq-v3) on Fraxswap.

It will provide rewards for BrainDAO and all IQ-FRAX liquidity providers which incentivize people to acquire IQ tokens creating additional utility and demand for IQ. As the value of FXS rises, the value of the rewards will increase, which should increase the demand for IQ from yield farmers.

An allocation of 500,000 IQ/day will be issued to incentivize liquidity providers. Additionally, BrainDAO will allocate $200,000 of IQ per biweekly voting period at core team’s discretion to pay FXS holders to vote in favor of FXS rewards for IQ-FRAX liquidity providers through the Frax gauge system.

To ensure the program is sustainable, the core team will not put up more rewards than the DAO makes from its LP after the first 2 cycles. Voting in favor of FXS rewards for IQ-FRAX liquidity providers will ensure that IQ-FRAX liquidity providers receive a large share of FXS rewards from the FXS gauges. Since BrainDAO will provide liquidity to the IQ-FRAX pair this will allow BrainDAO to earn FXS rewards which can then be reinvested into sustainably increase the number of votes in favor of the gauge. Thus, allowing BrainDAO along with all IQ-FRAX liquidity providers to earn an increasing amount of rewards.

[Fraxswap](https://app.frax.finance/swap/main) is the first constant product automated market maker with an embedded time-weighted average market maker (TWAMM) for conducting large trades over long periods of time trustlessly powered by [Frax Finance](https://app.frax.finance/).

The pool is now also live on the FXS gauge system which will allow IQ/FRAX liquidity providers to earn more FXS emission rewards through the Frax gauge reward system.
