Daniel Alegre is the CEO of Yuga Labs the company behind leading NFT collections including Bored Ape Yacht Club, Otherside, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and the Bored Ape Kennel Club. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard, the video game company behind franchises including World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft, and Call of Duty. ^{[9] [1]}

Education

Daniel has a Bachelors of Arts with Honors from Princeton University in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and also has dual MBA and JD degrees from Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School. ^[2]

Career

Daniel Alegre began his career as Director of New Business Development at Bertelsmann in June 1995. He later became Managing Director at BMG Music in January 1997, and then took on the role of Vice President of Business Development at a eCommerce Group at Bertelsmann in January 2000.

In January 2004, Alegre became Vice President of the Latin American sector at Google, and in June 2007, he was promoted to President Asia-Pacific at the company. He served in this role until November 2012, when he became President, Global and Strategic Partnerships at Google. In November 2017, Alegre was appointed President, Global Retail, Shopping and Payments at Google, a position he held until April 2020. Since June 2013, he has been and still is a Member of the Board of Directors at Sleep Number by Select Comfort, and he has been President and Chief Operating Officer at Activision Blizzard since April 2020. ^[3][4]

In January 2004, he was appointed Vice President of the Latin American sector at Google, where he oversaw a significant expansion in the region. Alegre was later promoted to President Asia-Pacific at Google, and served in this role until November 2012. During his time, Alegre also moved further up - becoming President of Global and Strategic Partnerships, working to build strong connections with multiple different companies from across the globe. In November 2017, Daniel Alegre was appointed President of Global Retail and Shopping at Google. In this role, he was responsible for integrating ecommerce across all sectors, as well as widening the company's scope of advertising. Alegre also played a key role in Google's international expansion, and lived in China, Singapore, and Tokyo while serving as President of the company's Asia-Pacific and Japan businesses. ^[3][4][6]

On December 19th 2022, Yuga Labs announced the appointment of Daniel Alegre as their CEO, affective in the first half of 2023, as they stated that they were always looking for the right person with the correct skill set to onboard. ^[7]

It was later discovered that On December 15th 2022, Daniel bought a five trait M1 Mutant Ape, Mutant Ape #3850. ^[8]

After Daniel Alegre became CEO, former CEO Nicole Muniz moved into the role of strategic advisor. ^[5]
