Christian Angermayer was born on 26 April 1978 in Wiesau, Germany. In 1998, he began studying biochemistry at the University of Bayreuth, where he met professors Roland Kreutzer and Stefan Limmer, who were researching RNA interference as a gene-targeting technique.
