## Presentations

### Governance of DAOs

In a February 2024 video conference with Kernal, Lee discussed governance in the [Ethereum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum) ecosystem, focusing on community participation and [Arbitrum’s](https://iq.wiki/wiki/arbitrum) approach to decentralization and governance. He explained [DAOs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/dao) as decentralized, self-governing organizations structured around shared objectives and outlined common governance processes, including forum discussions, off-chain sentiment checks, and on-chain voting enforced by [smart contracts](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract). Lee also examined different voting models, including token-based voting, delegation, councils, and hybrid systems, discussing their respective advantages and risks such as plutocracy and voter apathy. He highlighted ways individuals could participate in [DAOs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/dao) without holding tokens through grants, working groups, community management, and other contributions, while also addressing challenges involving legitimacy, legal considerations, security, and community engagement. The presentation concluded with discussion of greater institutional participation, the need for governance models suited to different organizations, and opportunities for collaboration between [DAOs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/dao).
