**DreamOS** is a [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) operating-system platform founded in 2022 by Daniel Altman, Dom Dosu, and Jack Kim. It is designed to simplify access to [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) through memorable usernames, a built-in [decentralized application](https://iq.wiki/wiki/decentralized-application) store, cross-chain transactions, and fiat on- and off-ramps. The Dream service also operates as a mobile-first options brokerage for digital assets.[\[1\]](#cite-id-rlifxumuya)[\[2\]](#cite-id-e1y9ycpnpj)

## Overview

DreamOS replaces complex public-key addresses with memorable usernames for account management. Its built-in [decentralized application (DApp)](https://iq.wiki/wiki/decentralized-application) store provides a unified interface for browsing and accessing applications across multiple [blockchains](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain). The platform also supports cross-chain transactions and fiat on-ramps and off-ramps.[\[1\]](#cite-id-rlifxumuya)

Dream offers downloads for iOS and Android. The company describes its product as a platform for trading [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) and options, and its website has called it “the fastest way to trade options.”[\[3\]](#cite-id-bel3yidcmc)[\[4\]](#cite-id-a2dqsn0otw)

## Key Features

* **Call and Put Options:** DreamOS explains call options, which generally gain value when the underlying asset's price rises, and put options, which generally benefit from price declines.
* **Strike Price and Expiration:** Defines the strike price as the reference level used to calculate an option's value and expiration as the date and time the contract settles.
* **Premium and Intrinsic Value:** Describes the premium as the cost of purchasing an option and intrinsic value as the amount it would be worth if exercised at the current market price.
* **Moneyness Classification:** Categorizes options as in the money (ITM), at the money (ATM), or out of the money (OTM), based on the relationship between the underlying asset's market price and the strike price.
* **Breakeven Calculation:** Explains how to determine the settlement price at which an option's payout offsets its total purchase cost, accounting for the strike price and premium paid. [\[5\]](#cite-id-eI0dM3dlOV6mOS0L)

## Options Brokerage

Dream is a mobile-first options brokerage that aggregates quotes from institutional [liquidity providers](https://iq.wiki/wiki/liquidity-providers). Rather than using traditional options order books, the interface lets a user select an asset, strike price, and expiration date and receive a price for the trade. Expirations range from the same day to one year, with supported markets and contract sizes intended for both short-term trading and longer-term positions.[\[2\]](#cite-id-e1y9ycpnpj)

The brokerage combines onchain wallet functionality with services for opening, managing, and closing options positions. Its options are cash-settled: at expiration, a user may receive a cash payout instead of delivery of the underlying asset.[\[2\]](#cite-id-e1y9ycpnpj)
