## Overview

ECOMI is a [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) and digital collectibles company centered on the OMI token and the VeVe platform, which provides a marketplace for digital collectibles and comics. Its ecosystem uses [NFTs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) to represent unique [digital assets](https://iq.wiki/wiki/digital-assets) and [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) records to establish ownership and transaction history. OMI functions as a utility token within the broader ecosystem, supporting transactions and other platform activities, while the VeVe Master Collector Program provides a points and rewards system tied to collecting and platform participation. ECOMI also provides a Web Wallet for storing and managing OMI.

ECOMI’s technology combines blockchain infrastructure, [NFTs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft), and [smart contracts](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract) to support the creation, authentication, ownership, and transfer of [digital assets](https://iq.wiki/wiki/digital-assets). The ecosystem operates on the GoChain [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain), which uses a Proof of Reputation [consensus mechanism](https://iq.wiki/wiki/consensus-mechanism) in which transaction validation is performed by network participants selected based on their reputation. VeVe uses [smart contracts](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract) to facilitate transactions involving digital collectibles, while [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) records provide information about ownership and transaction history. The platform is designed primarily for mobile use and supports digital collectibles from brands, artists, and intellectual property partners. ### History

Founded in 2017 by David Yu, Daniel Crothers, and Joseph Janik, the company initially developed ECOMI Collect, which was later renamed VeVe, a platform for purchasing, collecting, and trading digital collectibles. ECOMI released its whitepaper and conducted an [ICO](https://iq.wiki/wiki/initial-coin-offering) in 2018, followed by the launch of VeVe’s beta and public versions in 2019. The platform subsequently incorporated features including augmented reality, scene creation, and in-app gamification. [\[3\]](#cite-id-dOULENOWEPfc4gdM)

## Features

ECOMI’s core features include NFT minting, digital collectible identification, and ownership transfer within the VeVe ecosystem. Digital collectibles are created by [minting](https://iq.wiki/wiki/minting) [NFTs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) through ECOMI’s [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) [smart contracts](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract), with each [NFT](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) serving as a record of ownership for the associated [digital asset](https://iq.wiki/wiki/digital-assets). After [minting](https://iq.wiki/wiki/minting), each [NFT](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) is linked to metadata through a URL containing information such as the collectible’s name, brand, licensor, and series, with collectibles organized into different rarity categories ranging from common to secret-rare. Ownership is assigned to a wallet managed by ECOMI on behalf of the user, after which users can trade or sell their digital collectibles to other participants on the platform. [\[4\]](#cite-id-WkJseHROFee6LdvO)

## Veve

VeVe is a cross-platform application for buying, selling, trading, collecting, and interacting with digital collectibles and other virtual assets. Users create accounts with an email address and can select brands and interests to support personalized content recommendations. The platform includes a secondary marketplace where collectibles can be sold at fixed prices or through seven-day auctions, along with watchlists and inspection tools for viewing ownership history, transaction history, edition numbers, and other asset information. VeVe also provides an in-app wallet for managing tokens and digital collectibles, as well as a store for browsing assets by brand and category.

VeVe also incorporates several features for displaying and interacting with digital collectibles. Its augmented reality tools allow users to place collectibles in real-world environments, while the Showroom provides customizable spaces for displaying collections publicly or privately. The Scene Creator allows users to build 3D environments using collectibles, props, backgrounds, lighting, and camera controls, with scenes shareable through the platform’s Show Wall and external social media. The Show Wall functions as a social space where users can share, like, comment on, and interact with digital collectibles and scenes, while in-app gamification adds interactive and multiplayer experiences involving owned collectibles. ### Veve NFT Marketplace

The VeVe NFT marketplace is the secondary market for buying, selling, and discovering digital collectibles, comics, and artworks that are already in circulation on the platform. Listings are priced in Gems, VeVe’s in-app currency, and display information such as edition numbers, rarity tiers, cover variants, and current prices. Digital collectibles and comics are issued in fixed quantities across rarity levels from Common through Secret Rare, while Artworks are generally single-edition releases classified as Artist Proof. Users can browse and compare listings, while sellers can choose between fixed-price listings and auctions.

For fixed-price sales, sellers set a Gem price and can review the applicable floor price, marketplace fee, and expected payout; listings remain active for up to 30 days. Auctions run for 24 hours, with the highest bid winning at the end of the auction. Sellers can list collectibles, comics, and artworks directly from their collections, while an external marketplace called StackR provides an additional option for listing [NFTs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) using OMI rather than Gems. Marketplace activity can also contribute to progress in VeVe’s Master Collector Program (MCP), which tracks participation across collecting, set completion, marketplace activity, and other platform interactions. ### Veve Comics

![](https://ipfs.everipedia.org/ipfs/Qmb3HWvKRhtEgDt46kCCBa8S8nbcoZc28EeG8aY7hwdKnL)

VeVe Comics is a digital comics feature on the VeVe platform that offers limited-edition comic [NFTs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) in multiple rarity levels, typically Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare, and Secret Rare. Releases can include up to five cover variants, with each variant corresponding to a different rarity and edition distribution. Before purchasing, users can view the odds of receiving each cover variant and the number of editions remaining, but the specific variant is generally revealed only after purchase and delivery to the user’s Collection. Unlike physical comics, the digital editions do not deteriorate through repeated use. Each VeVe Comic includes the complete comic rather than only its collectible cover and can be read through VeVe’s built-in e-reader. The reader supports page navigation, zooming, and continuation from the last page viewed. Digital comics can also be traded on VeVe’s secondary marketplace through fixed-price listings or auctions, with comics separated into their own market category. Users access the comics section through VeVe’s interface, allowing them to browse, purchase, collect, read, and trade digital comic editions alongside other [digital assets](https://iq.wiki/wiki/digital-assets). ### Veve Artwork

![](https://ipfs.everipedia.org/ipfs/QmVP2Ka7hoEBXGtrJkxr5fMCs76MnEJ2QZ388r8sXQrYS2)

VeVe Artworks is a digital art category available through the VeVe web app featuring highly limited digital works from participating artists and licensors. Artworks generally have editions ranging from 1-of-1 to a maximum of 1-of-5, with some pieces offering additional benefits such as a signed physical counterpart or other associated utility for the initial owner. Before an auction begins, users can view the artwork in 2D and 3D along with its metadata, including its description, rarity, and series information. Participation in Artwork drops and auctions requires KYC verification.

Artworks are primarily distributed through four-day silent auctions in which participants submit private bids denominated in Gems, with the highest bidder winning when the auction closes. Each participant can maintain one active bid per Artwork and, during most of the auction period, can modify or withdraw the bid at three-hour intervals; bids become final during the final hour. For multi-edition releases, bidders can select a specific edition number but can only bid on one edition of a given Artwork at a time. Winners have 24 hours to complete payment, while unpaid works can be offered to the next-highest bidder. Some auctions may also require a non-refundable entry fee. ## OMI

OMI is the native [utility token](https://iq.wiki/wiki/utility-token) of the ECOMI ecosystem and is primarily associated with the VeVe digital collectibles platform. It is used as a medium of exchange within the ecosystem for activities involving digital collectibles and supports other platform functions, including participation in the VeVe Master Collector Program and access to certain events, content, and rewards. OMI can be acquired through [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) exchanges and is supported by ECOMI’s Web Wallet for storage and management. [\[2\]](#cite-id-J33ODmmej6qVC7cy)

### Tokenomics

OMI has a total supply of 750B tokens and has the following distribution: [\[2\]](#cite-id-J33ODmmej6qVC7cy) [\[4\]](#cite-id-WkJseHROFee6LdvO)

### OMI Unlimited

OMI Unlimited is a [staking](https://iq.wiki/wiki/staking) and rewards program for OMI holders that operates on the [Base](https://iq.wiki/wiki/base) [Layer-2](https://iq.wiki/wiki/layer-2) network. Participants stake at least 1 million OMI for lock periods of 3, 6, 12, or 24 months and accumulate XP each day. Daily XP is determined by the amount of OMI staked, the selected lock period, the user’s VeVe Master Collector Program (MCP) level, and qualifying [NFTs](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) held across VeVe and the broader [Web3](https://iq.wiki/wiki/web3) ecosystem. A [Privy](https://iq.wiki/wiki/privy) embedded self-custody wallet is created for users who sign in by email, while users can also connect an existing third-party wallet.

XP determines rewards through two tracks: seasonal leaderboards, where rankings influence Gem allocations and collectible rewards, and lifetime progression, where accumulated XP contributes to milestone rewards that do not reset between seasons. The program is funded by a portion of primary and secondary market activity within the VeVe ecosystem rather than new OMI emissions, with part of the funding also allocated to OMI buybacks and burns. Early withdrawal is available for a fee, which stops future rewards while preserving rewards already earned, and the fee is burned. The program is currently in beta on [Base](https://iq.wiki/wiki/base) testnet, meaning the OMI staked during testing has no real value and the displayed rewards are previews pending a future mainnet launch.
