The Electra Protocol [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) officially launched in January 2021 with a total supply of 30 billion XEP, its native currency. Unlike many [cryptocurrencies](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency), Electra Protocol did not raise funds through an initial coin offering, exchange offering, or venture capital.
