## Presentations

### Censorship-Resistant Code

In a presentation at d/acc Day Berlin in July 2025, Diakomichalis discussed how open-source code distribution depends on large corporations and the risks of censorship, coercion, and restrictions on anonymous contributions. He presented [Radicle](https://iq.wiki/wiki/radicle), a peer-to-peer protocol that extends Git with cryptographic identities, signed code and collaboration activity, and a gossip network for discovering and retrieving repositories. Its local-first architecture supports privacy, while self-certifying repositories let maintainers set governance rules and use threshold signatures to determine trusted canonical branches. Diakomichalis also described how the approach could be used to distribute verifiable front ends, enabling users to check locally whether the version they are accessing has been approved by the project’s maintainers. ### Radicle

At a [Gnosis](https://iq.wiki/wiki/gnosis) Berlin Meetup in June 2025, Diakomichalis discussed political and economic challenges, including nationalism, remilitarization, inequality, authoritarianism, and digital fragmentation. He argued that the [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) industry had made limited progress toward its goals of giving users greater control over identity, data, privacy, and open access, despite advances in [decentralized finance](https://iq.wiki/wiki/defi), cryptography, and public-goods funding. He also noted that some privacy-focused tools had attracted users without significant support from the crypto industry and encouraged greater use and funding of these projects. Diakomichalis highlighted [Radicle](https://iq.wiki/wiki/radicle) as a peer-to-peer network for censorship-resistant open-source code collaboration and Drips as a platform for flexible funding and redistribution among open-source projects. He concluded that Europe’s efforts to achieve digital independence offer an opportunity to develop a sovereign, neutral internet rather than replicate centralized cloud infrastructure under European ownership.
