Forest Knight
Forest Knight is a free to play and play to earn strategy game powered by Ethereum & Polygon (formerly Matic Network) Layer 2. The game allows players to build their own team of heroes that have all traveled from different realms to join the battle against the Skeleton Master.[1][2][3]
Forest Knight also focuses on blockchain gaming by utilizing Non-Fungible Token (NFT) items in the game, where players are the true owners of their items and can sell or trade their unique items whenever they want.[4]
Forest Knight is powered by the KNIGHT token. Basically, players can use the token to purchase accessories, weapons, skins, and virtual lands. They can also earn the tokens from winning arena battles, staking, and as part of governance.[5][6]
Overview
The game was originally launched in October 2019 and was one of the first mobile games to embrace NFTs through the services of Enjin.
Forest Knight is a Play-to-Earn mobile game powered by Ethereum & polygon Layer 2. It allows players to build their own team of heroes. A player's goal is to level up their heroes and equip them with unique and powerful NFTs to aid them in the journey.
During this long journey, users will challenge other knights of the kingdom in the PvP Arena for rewards, join guilds with like-minded knights and fight in mass battles versus other guilds, train their own pets and gain KNIGHT tokens.
Inspired by successful games, such as Heroes of Might and Magic and Clash Royale, the game combines PVE RPG experience, a PVP competitive and social gameplay modes and activities as well as a decentralized item ecosystem through game items as NFTs and world-building powered with DeFi elements.[8]
This strategy mobile game offers new quests on a daily basis. There are also story missions and dungeons to earn gold and resources. These items will allow players to upgrade their heroes with improved gear. In addition, there is a staking mechanism to earn interest in KNIGHT token holdings.[3][5][7]
Features
Play-to-Earn & Free-to-Play
Forest Knight combines casual mobile gaming with blockchain gaming to deliver an adventure, a captivating story, unique Heroes with special abilities, and exclusive NFTs designed for every Hero. The game has features that focus on both PVE and PVP.
True Item Ownership
In Forest Knight, NFTs are unique, exclusive, and powerful items that are designed for each hero. Their value depends on their rarity and strength. The rarer, the less there are, with some categories of NFTs having only 10 in existence.
Marketplace
One of the game’s main features is a virtual marketplace where players can buy and sell their land and other in-game items, such as weapons, rings, necklaces, and badges, which will help them to improve their team, contribute to the guild and challenge stronger players.
In-game Assets
There are in-game assets that can be deployed into the game and they can be bought on the marketplace. In addition, players can level up their NFTs by combining items of similar rarity and class and create new NFTs.
Progression System
Forest Knight will have a dynamic progression system that rewards players as they progress through the game. Players will progress through the game by winning stages, completing fun quests, and other activities.
Competitive System
One of the core features of the game is the PVP arena where players can show their skills to climb the ladders and win arena chests. The higher the player rank, the better the rewards out of the Arena chests. Top players will also be rewarded at the end of a season with scarce NFTs, which act as an incentive for the more professional scene.
Thematic Events
One of the key aspects of the game is the always-evolving ecosystem. From introducing new Heroes, portal appearances in the town up to world changes due to kingdom wars between players. Forest Knight will enable various possibilities for players to work on a shared goal and join resources to complete exciting and rewarding activities. The game will also have community-created events where players will be able to create and participate in activities. [1][7]
Gameplay
Any player is the hero who just lost the battle against Skeleton Master and miraculously survived, yet lost all their memories. Their defeat affected the whole continent and the world currently is full of evil creatures and monsters. The town becomes their home to defend and operate from, recruit new companions, and go on an adventure. By progressing through the campaign, players get stronger and earn new equipment in the form of NFTs .
Players can merge their items to create stronger and unique equipment pieces, upgrade their heroes, and recruit heroes specific to the battle strategy they are looking for. The turn-based strategy gameplay is inspired by the traditional game of chess. Each hero can move a certain amount of cells and its special ability affects a certain pattern of the field, allowing for infinite strategic possibilities.
After reaching a certain level, the player realizes he is not alone and the world is full of these towns and other strong teams of heroes. After buying a piece of land, the player can deploy buildings in the form of NFTs and smart contracts to participate in clan wars, earn game currencies and shape the future of the world map.

Tokenomics
Knight Token Lore
According to the storyline, after the invasions of the realms from the evil minions of the underworld, mysterious tokens started appearing. First, the citizens claimed that they would just leave them there, but soon enough we learned that they were being used to bribe them even when they had no idea of its powers or what the origin of these tokens was.
As the realms start to unify, they send their most courageous heroes to fight alongside the Forest Knight and learn more about these mysterious tokens. Years of studying led them to create a newer and purer token that can’t be used or corrupted by the minions of the underworld.[9]
They named it "The Knight Token". A tribute to the Knights that are protecting the realms. The token was minted by the celestial Dwarves at the Mystic Forge. Said to be of solid gold infused with the purest light magic that protects it from corruption. The Knight Token is the most sought-after token — a sign of honor and trust which all of the realms would kindly trade with even for the hardest of silver and shiniest of gold.
KNIGHT Token
The KNIGHT token is the native digital cryptographically-secured utility token of the Forest Knight ecosystem (ERC20 token), which is intended to be used solely as the primary utility token within the ecosystem. KNIGHT is a non-refundable functional utility token that will be used as the medium of exchange between participants in the Forest Knight ecosystem.
Its utility will allow players to use them in trading, purchasing items, buying and selling land, staking them for rewards, etc. But ultimately the team wants users, the player, to participate in an open economy across the world of Forest Knight. KNIGHT may only be utilized on the Forest Knight ecosystem and ownership of KNIGHT carries no rights, express or implied, other than the right to use KNIGHT as a means to enable usage of and interaction within the Forest Knight ecosystem.[7]

Players will be completing missions and progressing through the battle pass which is an NFT itself. The NFT level determines the rewards at the end of the season.
Adventure
Adventure stages consist of 6 key Regions. Every region is occupied by an old servant of the Skelet Master. They are known as the guardians of that region. They have unique mystic powers that change the environment around them. Everything close to the guardian of the region is affected by its power. And thus did the once clean and peaceful forest split into 6 regions.
Forest Region
The home of the knights. They used to expand their homelands in this forest they called Chronville. The minions of the guardians started raiding the forest and so the knights only had a small village left for themselves.
Desert Region
The desert guardian Gronn took over this region not too long ago. What was once a forest, changed to a desert with no water and natural life. Many clashes have taken place in this region, causing cracks over the desert. Unfortunately, many knights have fallen here. Today the remnant of their mounts can be found there.
Lava Region
The Old Aster Kingdom once filled with life and happiness, changed to a dead lava land occupied by the lava guardian Ghidra. Ghidra is one of the strongest servants of the Skeleton master. The high mages from the Aster Kingdom were known to bring life to the lands they visit. Ghidra however, uses his power to take life. With his necromantic abilities, he used the old villagers' remnants to create his own fortress.
Snow Region
Princess Nyxia from Chronville tried to protect the snow crystal which is the source for the snow in this region. It was the only snow and ice source for Chronville and only here the rune miners could gather the power of the frost runes. Though Iglis, one of the Skeleton Master’s servants, wanted to use the power for herself. So she took the powers of princess Nyxia and used them to possess the powers of the snow crystal.
Old Land Region
Once the king of Chronville lived here. The king of Chronville wanted to trade with the king of Tyrial, to maintain a good relationship between the two kingdoms. Regrettably, the king of Tyrial was not ready to accept this trade since he planned to be the only king. So he created the Skeleton Master to reach his goal. The fall of the king of Chronville happened through the dark magics of the Skeleton Master.
Void Region
The home of the Skeleton master. Summoned by the King of Tyrial, he feels that he could be much more than a slave of the King. So he decides to become the "Void King" by beating the other Kings. The void region is filled with void holes sending disobeying minions to a realm where they can never turn back. Arcane magic trees are spread over the region, giving the Skeleton master the power he needs.
The map consists of two modes: normal mode and hard mode. Hard Mode is unlocked after completing the 11th mission of the stage.
The star system is based on the number of surviving heroes at the end of the battle. If all three heroes survive, players will receive three stars and so on. By combining the stars earned from normal mode and hard mode, they can unlock the progress chests located at the bottom left section of the screen.
The Arena
The Arena is a Player vs. Player (PvP) activity, where they'll be fighting 1v1 battles against other teams of three. The winner will gain trophies, rise in rank and earn chests containing powerful loot.
Currently, there are six different ranks:
- Bronze: 0-299 Trophies
- Silver: 300-599 Trophies
- Gold: 600-999 Trophies
- Lord: 1000-1499 Trophies
- Master: 1500-1999 Trophies
- Grand Master: 2000+ Trophies
There are three types of Chests:
- Wooden
- Silver
- Gold
A player can have a maximum of 4 chests at a time. Every type of chest has a different opening time, which you need to manually open and claim the rewards.[10]
Marketplaces & Trading
The Forest Knight marketplace is a virtual marketplace where players can buy and sell their NFT items such as land and other in-game items, such as weapons, rings, necklaces, and badges, which will help them to improve their team, contribute to the guild and challenge stronger players.
The items owned can also be traded on marketplaces outside of the game companies' influence. Which will increase financial incentives for gamers to purchase and create items in the game.
Items can be traded in several marketplaces:
- In-Game Marketplace: The in-game marketplace is a native marketplace of the forest Knight which is blockchain-based and ownership is with the players. It is available on the website.
- External marketplaces on Ethereum & Polygon: Forest Knight Contracts can also be read by the 3rd party marketplaces like These Markets allow users to search for items based on data about assets, such as color and item category. This way the game and the players will benefit from the liquidity of these marketplaces. It is all about decentralization.
- Forest Knight's in-game Blockchain assets will be tradable Peer 2 peer in third-party marketplaces
- In-App Purchase: Forest Knight will use the existing App stores, such as Google Play, to sell items, in particular first-hand items collections, and in-game currencies. This is important for the onboarding of Non-Crypto currency users. The team believes that they have a strategy to make this comply with the terms of service and is already being used in early access. [1][7]
Forest Knight DAO
There will be a creation of a DAO, which has the potential to turn community feedback into community governance.
Forest Knight will not only create a game but code for a decentralized autonomous organization called the Knight Table. The DAO implementation should be handed out to an external company, it identifies Alchemy Dao as the initial partner.
The DAO, created will over time take over the majority of decision-making powers within the game. Knight Table will be a crucial element of the game ecosystem which will address both in-game issues as well as the proposals connected to game development and future funding. Every KNIGHT holder can become a member of the decentralized organization and get the right to vote on proposals. At the same time, we understand that a certain number of players will be primarily interested in gaming and enjoying the universe of Forest Knight.
Staking Yield
One of the team's strategic visions within Forest Knight is to create monetary incentives for the most committed and motivated players.
Staking Yield
Based on its staking and reward projections, they will allocate a fair amount of tokens on staking rewards. This will Incentivize stakes to hold their tokens during the early stage of the game development while some significant game features will still be under development. Staking will progressively decrease as new features will be released.
Land Resources
Owning a land piece gives players the privilege to stake certain buildings on that land which not only improves the Gameplay and earns in-game resources, it does earn players different NFTs & partially $KNIGHT tokens depending on building level and type. Players can collect their earnings by resting in the building. The building's earning strength increases with the amount of time they are deployed and resets upon a harvest.
Renting NFTs
NFTs, including land, can be rented to other players. The smart contract will make sure that the borrower cannot resell or destroy the object, and makes sure that the object returns to the owner when the rental period ends.
