## Career

### Ethereum Foundation and Solidity

Heintel has worked at the [Ethereum Foundation](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum-foundation-ef) and was identified in 2021 as a member of its [Solidity](https://iq.wiki/wiki/solidity) team, which develops the programming language used in the Ethereum ecosystem.[\[1\]](#cite-id-jyij1optr2)[\[2\]](#cite-id-lnm6q1m8yj)[\[3\]](#cite-id-a6yya82262)

In a 2021 interview, Heintel described Ethereum’s community as welcoming to newcomers, who could find help through tools, tutorials, learning games, and other community members. She said that new waves of adoption brought more users and developers and renewed attention to scaling and education. She also characterized Solidity and the broader Ethereum ecosystem as actively used but still under development. In discussing the Solidity team’s work, she said [cryptocurrency](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptocurrency) market movements did not materially affect its focus on building technology. She emphasized that software deployed on Ethereum could not simply be withdrawn, so developers needed to consider security, auditing, and the consequences of deployment, even where upgrade mechanisms existed.[\[3\]](#cite-id-a6yya82262)

Heintel shared a recruitment notice on April 19, 2023, for a Developer Advocate to join the Ethereum Foundation’s Solidity team. The post described the role as combining technical ability, organizational skill, and communication, and sought candidates with experience in open-source communities and alignment with Ethereum’s values.[\[6\]](#cite-id-ekjvmdsa2b)[\[4\]](#cite-id-urtt5hqp69)[\[5\]](#cite-id-w9n8wjw3ah)

On March 26, 2025, Heintel shared announcements for two Ethereum Foundation roles: a Collaborative Funding Coordinator, tasked with helping secure funding for Ethereum public goods, and a Project Manager for the Launchpad Program. The coordinator role called for experience in public-goods or grants fundraising, organizational and coordination skills, and experience managing customer relationship management systems. Heintel invited people with coordination skills, experience in incubation or company-building programs, and an interest in helping others succeed to join her Launchpad Program team.[\[7\]](#cite-id-35o6o8r71a)

At the Matrix Community Summit in 2023, Heintel presented “Making Your Org Move Communications from Discord to Matrix — Lessons Learned.” Her session addressed the [Ethereum Foundation](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum-foundation-ef)’s move from Discord to Matrix: after more than two years of discussion, the organization established its own Matrix server and bridged channels from Discord. Heintel discussed the reasons for the chosen setup, the factors that delayed the decision, lessons from the transition, and approaches to persuading an organization to move its communications to Matrix. The presentation was scheduled for September 23, 2023.[\[1\]](#cite-id-jyij1optr2)[\[2\]](#cite-id-lnm6q1m8yj)

In September 2026, Heintel promoted an event titled “Decent Code Collaboration Concepts after Git(Hub),” scheduled for October 5 at c-base and hosted by the Department of Decentralization Berlin. The announced topics and projects included [Radicle](https://iq.wiki/wiki/radicle), Tangled, rngit, and Jujutsu. Heintel argued that GitHub was declining and represented a single point of failure under the control of a large corporation.[\[10\]](#cite-id-4asxksso3y)
