## Humanity Protocol Bridge Exploit

In June 2026, Humanity Protocol suffered a major exploit affecting its H token bridges on both [Ethereum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum) and [BNB Smart Chain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-bridged-usdc-bnb-smart-chain) (BSC), resulting in over $36 million in stolen funds. According to the team’s incident report, the attack originated from a compromised employee laptop, which led to the exposure of multiple Gnosis Safe owner keys controlling the project’s bridge infrastructure.

On [Ethereum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum), three out of six Gnosis Safe owner keys tied to the Hyperlane bridge ProxyAdmin were compromised. The attacker used the stolen keys to transfer ProxyAdmin ownership to their own wallet, upgrade the bridge contract to a malicious implementation, and drain approximately 141.2 million H tokens in a single transaction.

On [BNB Smart Chain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/binance-bridged-usdc-bnb-smart-chain), three out of five Safe owner keys were also compromised. The attacker similarly seized ProxyAdmin control, deployed a malicious contract implementation with an unlimited mint function, and minted 200,000,005 H tokens directly to their wallet in two separate transactions. The stolen tokens were subsequently dumped on the market, contributing to significant selling pressure on the H token.

Following the incident, Humanity Protocol suspended all deposits and withdrawals across the affected bridges and began collaborating with exchanges, security partners, and law enforcement agencies in an attempt to contain the damage and recover stolen assets.
