## Career

Joshua Harding is the founder and CEO of [Stable](https://iq.wiki/wiki/stable), a company building a [Layer 1](https://iq.wiki/wiki/layer-1) [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain), described as a "stablechain," specifically optimized for [stablecoin](https://iq.wiki/wiki/stablecoin) transactions. Harding has stated that the project was created to address challenges users face when using [stablecoins](https://iq.wiki/wiki/clarity-for-payment-stablecoins-act-of-2023) on general-purpose blockchains, such as high gas fees paid in volatile assets, extended confirmation times, and reliance on centralized custodians or bridges. Under his leadership, Stable is developing a network that uses USDT as the native token for gas fees, with a protocol designed to make transfers free and optimized for real-world payments and remittances. The funding was structured as a combination of a simple agreement for future equity (SAFE) and token warrants. Harding has worked closely with [Paolo Ardoino](https://iq.wiki/wiki/paolo-ardoino), the CEO of [Tether](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tether) and CTO of [Bitfinex](https://iq.wiki/wiki/bitfinex), who has served as a close advisor to the project since its inception. As of July 2025, Harding managed a team of 27 people with plans for further expansion. He has outlined a phased rollout for the Stable network, with a mainnet launch targeted for late Q3 or early Q4 of 2025.
