Sean Ford is the CEO of Algorand, a decentralized blockchain protocol that aims to provide efficient, secure, and scalable transactions. Before assuming the role of CEO at Algorand, Ford worked in the areas of marketing, business management, and venture capital.^[2]

Career

Ford holds the position of Chairman of the Board at Napster, a music streaming service. He was also part of the Board at PlanetWatch and MITX. From January 2014 to June 2018, he had the role of CMO at LogMeln, one of the world’s top 10 public SaaS companies, where he was responsible for global marketing strategy, product marketing, ecommerce, communications, brand leadership, and demand generation.^[2]
He has been member of the Board of Directors at campusSIMs and Recovery Circles Foundation, and has held other senior roles such as the Vice President Worldwide Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer at Avid Technology, Chief Operating Officer at Zmags, Chief Marketing Officer at Synocsor, and Global Business Unit Marketing at Oracle Corporation.^[3] Other positions include:

• Special Assistant to the Chairman at Plymouth Rock Companies (September 2004 to March 2006)
• Co-Founder, VP Product Marketing, and Product Management at Upromise (December 1999 to July 2001)
• Consultant at Monitor Group (August 1995 to December 1999, May 1991 to July 1993)

Algorand

Sean joined Algorand after working at LogMeIn, where he had the role of Chief Marketing Officer, in charge of global marketing strategy, product marketing, ecommerce, communications, brand leadership, and demand generation. Since early 2018, Sean held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Algorand, where he was  responsible for product management, engineering, marketing and other operational aspects of the company's go-to-market strategy. On July 27, 2022, he was appointed Interim CEO of Algorand, taking the place of Steven Kokinos. ^[4][5]

Education

Ford obtained a Bachelors of Arts in English from Williams College and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.^[2]
