Talks
Banana Conference
In June 2024 at the Banana conference, Stewart Rogers and his co-founder Ksenia Stark discussed the need to shift away from traditional, manipulative marketing tactics, which they termed "darketing," in favor of a more values-driven approach in the web3 world. They emphasize the importance of building communities based on shared values like diversity, equity, inclusion, collaboration, and transparency. According to them, the current internet economy has become overly transactional, driven by capitalist ideals that prioritize speed and profit over meaningful connections. [6]
They advocate for a new business model in web3 that centers around co-creation, collaboration, and direct engagement with communities, instead of following traditional, competitive, and profit-driven practices. [6]
Rogers and Stark emphasized the importance of conscious leadership and ethical decision-making, encouraging individuals and businesses to take responsibility for their actions and align with brands that reflect their values. Conclusively, they propose that collaboration should replace competition as the primary growth strategy, fostering a sustainable ecosystem where everyone can benefit and thrive. [6]
JoomlaDay USA 2022
Held in November 2022, Rogers emphasized in his closing remarks that artificial intelligence (AI) should be seen as a tool to enhance and augment human capabilities, rather than something to fear. He advised professionals to leverage AI to save time, increase efficiency, and improve their services, highlighting that AI can automate repetitive tasks and enhance productivity, ultimately allowing businesses to serve more customers and increase profitability. [7]
Rogers also addressed concerns about AI, such as its misuse for creating deep fakes and potential risks associated with quantum computing. He argued that while these risks are real, it is essential to stay informed, be proactive, and use AI for positive advancements. He concluded by encouraging attendees to stay ahead of technological developments and utilize AI to their advantage, rather than viewing it as a threat. [7]
