## Education

Moe earned his undergraduate degree from New York University, where he studied art history and economics, and afterward spent time training in martial arts in Brazil. ## Career

Moe's career has been centered on Asian equity markets since the mid-1980s, moving between sell-side research, a New York hedge fund, and ultimately more than two decades at Goldman Sachs.

There he served as head of Asia Ex-Japan Regional Research and as regional strategist from 1985 to 1993. In 1993 he moved to Salomon Brothers in Hong Kong, where he held the same role until 1996.
