**Victor Liew Jia Hao** is a Singaporean technology entrepreneur and engineer known for co-founding several fintech companies in Southeast Asia. ## Education

Victor Liew Jia Hao earned a Bachelor of Computing (Honours) in Communications and Media with a focus on Interactive Systems from the National University of Singapore between 2008 and 2012. Prior to that, he completed his GCE ‘A’ Levels at Anglo-Chinese Junior College, where he studied Computing, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from 2004 to 2005. ## Career

Liew began his career in technology infrastructure at Credit Suisse, where he worked on data systems and trading technologies, before joining Quora as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development of its web and mobile frameworks. In mid-2015, Liew co-founded Xfers alongside [Tianwei Liu](https://iq.wiki/wiki/tianwei-liu), Samson Leo, and Tianyao Liu, after the project was accepted into the Y Combinator Summer 2015 (S15) batch. Xfers became one of Singapore’s first Y Combinator-backed startups, attracting investors such as 500 Startups, Golden Gate Ventures, and Eduardo Saverin.

Building on Xfers’ success, Liew and his team launched the [StraitsX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/straitsx) brand in October 2020, introducing the XSGD stablecoin, backed by the Singapore Dollar. By September 2021, XSGD had surpassed S$1.5 billion in on-chain transaction volume. In March 2021, Xfers merged with Indonesian fintech Payfazz to form Fazz Financial Group, with Liew recognized as a co-founder.

As CTO of [StraitsX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/straitsx), Liew oversees [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) engineering, product architecture, and regulatory compliance. He has contributed to the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Project Orchid, which explores digital money standards, and has helped launch major [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) payment integrations, including partnerships with Grab, Amazon, and Alipay. Under his leadership, [StraitsX](https://iq.wiki/wiki/straitsx) has issued regulated, fiat-backed [stablecoins](https://iq.wiki/wiki/stablecoin) such as XSGD, XUSD, and XIDR, and continues to build infrastructure for borderless and compliant digital finance.
