From November 2011 to September 2014, he served as Manager of Global Systems Support Operations in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, managing global systems operations, service consolidation, incident response, service delivery strategy, and business continuity.

From March to August 2015, Diwakar worked with Rangewell on a short-term business finance market-mapping consultancy in London. He developed a platform for mapping UK B2B lenders and small-business borrowers, incorporating government and open-data sources and examining potential revenue models based on lender referrals. Diwakar co-founded Impala UK in September 2015 and served as CTO until February 2016. The startup focused on connecting smallholder farmers in East Africa with larger buyers and distributors through a hybrid private-public distributed ledger. His work included [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) prototypes, integrations involving SMS gateways and pricing systems, and financial modeling for funding and debt requirements.

From March 2016 to November 2017, Diwakar was Group CTO at GGH Ltd. in London. He established the group's technology function, with responsibilities covering M\&A integration, compliance, and operational efficiency, and moved parts of the company's IT infrastructure from on-premises systems to cloud-based architecture. He also worked on insurance software, including tooling, middleware, and APIs that connect the platform to payment gateways and government agencies. Diwakar joined Digital Asset in November 2017 as TSE, Europe, and subsequently became Developer Advocate for Global University Outreach from February to June 2019. He then served as Product Owner, Strategic Alliances from May 2019 to April 2021, working on partnerships and product-related initiatives. ## Interviews

### Being on Canton

In an August 2026 episode of the Canton Insiders podcast, Diwakar discussed [Canton’s](https://iq.wiki/wiki/canton-network) governance and ecosystem as the season’s second finale. He described his 25-year background across technology and finance and emphasized measurement, accountability, instrumentation, and strong controls as important principles for governing a [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) network. Diwakar explained how the [Canton Foundation](https://iq.wiki/wiki/canton-network) seeks to maintain neutrality through governance structures, bylaws, and committee engagement while balancing stakeholder interests and building institutional trust. He said a network moves from experimentation into production when transactions involve real obligations, settlement, and regulatory requirements, making reliability and trust particularly important. Looking ahead, he focused on emerging patterns of use, composability, and interconnected financial activity, arguing that broader network effects could be more significant than individual [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) applications. [\[5\]](#cite-id-BKXZX3kvBWcIztZ1)

## Panels

### Trillion Dollar Finance

At the Out East Summit in August 2026, Diwakar moderated a panel with Rena Shah of Stacks Endowment, [Thomas Uhm](https://iq.wiki/wiki/thomas-uhm) of Qube Research, [Spencer Applebaum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/spencer-applebaum) of Multicoin Capital, and [Keone Hon](https://iq.wiki/wiki/keone-hon) of [Monad](https://iq.wiki/wiki/monad) on the feasibility of bringing trillion-dollar-scale finance onto public [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) infrastructure. The discussion examined what such a figure would represent, with panelists focusing on on-chain value creation, settlement, and trading activity rather than simply the amount of capital held on-chain. They also addressed technological barriers including MEV, front-running, privacy, and market structure, as well as the differing roles of permissionless and permissioned systems in institutional adoption. The panelists argued that both models could coexist, while permissionless networks could capture significant long-term value through liquidity and developer activity, provided they offered institutions sufficient privacy, compliance, and trust. Looking toward 2031, they identified security, institutional features, interoperability, common standards, and regulatory engagement as important factors in determining whether large-scale institutional finance could move onto [blockchain](https://iq.wiki/wiki/blockchain) networks.
