Wrapped Cryptopunks is a [smart contract](https://iq.wiki/wiki/smart-contract) that converts the original [Cryptopunks](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptopunks) by Larva Labs into standard ERC-721. Once a Cryptopunk is wrapped, it can be converted into cash, and also be listed in marketplaces like [Opensea](https://iq.wiki/wiki/opensea) and [Rarible](https://iq.wiki/wiki/rarible) or NFTfi[\[1\]](#cite-id-5ph13le8ath). An ERC-721 CryptoPunk can be easily converted back into its original [ERC-20](https://iq.wiki/wiki/erc-20) form. The wrapping and unwrapping processes take place on Wrapped PUNKS[\[6\]](#cite-id-mg7r9omtjmh) and can be done with a [MetaMask](https://iq.wiki/wiki/metamask) wallet containing a [CryptoPunk](https://iq.wiki/wiki/cryptopunks). # Cryptopunks  
  
Cryptopunks are [Non-Fungible Token](https://iq.wiki/wiki/non-fungible-token-nft) (NFT) collections created on [Ethereum](https://iq.wiki/wiki/ethereum) (ETH) and inspiration for the ERC-721 standard that powers most digital art and collectibles. The collection was founded by software developers [Matt Hall](https://iq.wiki/wiki/matt-hall) and [John Watkinson](https://iq.wiki/wiki/john-watkinson) in 2017. [\[9\]](#cite-id-afc29qa9n37)  
  
The CryptoPunks are 24x24 pixel art images that were generated algorithmically. Most are punky-looking guys and girls, but there include a few rarer types mixed in apes, zombies, and even the Alien CryptoPunk.
