Annie Hu

Annie Hu is an American technology executive and product leader who currently serves as a Director of Product Management at Meta. She is a member of Meta's "" team, a group focused on advanced artificial intelligence research and development.

Education

Annie Hu attended the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business from 2003 to 2008, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Finance. She later pursued postgraduate studies at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, graduating in 2016 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Her academic background provided a foundation in both finance and business strategy, which she applied in her early career and later combined with her work in the technology sector. [1] [2]

Career

Hu began her professional career in the financial technology sector, working as a Business Analyst at Nasdaq from 2011 to 2014. In this role, she gained experience with financial markets, market data, and trading systems. During her MBA studies, she held two internships in 2015. She worked as a Summer Associate at the venture capital firm Eastlink Capital and also served as an MBA Intern in the Online Partnership Group at Google, marking her transition into the mainstream technology industry.

Following the completion of her MBA, Hu returned to Google in a full-time capacity, serving as a Channel Partnership Manager from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, she embarked on an entrepreneurial venture, co-founding Omnee Inc. and leading the company as its Chief Executive Officer until 2022.

In 2021, Hu joined Scale AI, a data platform for AI development. She held a series of progressively senior roles at the company, beginning in Strategic Products from 2021 to 2022. She was then appointed Head of Strategic Projects, a position she held until early 2023. For the remainder of 2023, she served as the Director of Strategic Product Management before being promoted to Vice President of Strategic Product Management, a role she held from 2023 until 2025. Meta Superintelligence Team

In mid-2025, Hu joined Meta as a Director of Product Management within its newly formed "" team. This group was assembled as part of a strategic initiative by Meta to advance its capabilities in generative AI and compete with other industry leaders like OpenAI and Google's DeepMind. The team is composed of prominent researchers, engineers, and product leaders, many of whom were recruited from competing AI labs.

The Superintelligence team's mandate covers a wide range of AI domains, including Large Language Models (LLMs), computer vision, multimodal systems, reinforcement learning, and model alignment. Hu's role as Director of Product focuses on AI product management, bridging the gap between the team's foundational research and its application in Meta's products and services. She joined a leadership group that includes AI pioneer Yann LeCun, former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman, and former DeepMind VP of Product .
