Frank Chaparro (also known as Fintech Frank) is the host of The Scoop podcast and the Director of Special Projects at The Block. ^[1][2]

Education

Frank Chaparro attended Fordham University where he studied for a Bachelor's degree in International Political Economy, Theology. ^[1]

Career

Frank was an evening news anchor at WFUV Public Radio from 2014 to 2016. He then worked for 2 months at Nasdaq in Marketing and Corporate Communications. ^[1][2]

In 2017, Frank joined Business Insider where he was first a Finance and Markets Editorial Intern, then he moved to the role of a Finance Reporter and finally in 2018, he was a freelance financial journalist. He interviewed top finance and tech executives, including billionaire Mark Cuban, “Flash Boys” star Brad Katsuyama, Cboe Global Markets CEO Ed Tilly, and New York Stock Exchange President Tom Farley. ^[3]

The Block

Frank Chaparro joined The Block in September 2018 as a Senior Respondent. In May 2019 he was promoted to the role of Director of News/Editor at large. In January 2024, Frank became the full-time Host of The Scoop podcast & Director of Special Projects at The Block. ^[4]

He joined The Block to dive deeper into his specialty and is responsible for investigating the most powerful figures and firms in the cryptocurrency market alongside a global team of financial journalists and researchers. ^[5]

Frank also writes a biweekly newsletter and leads special projects, including The Scoop. He moved to the business side of the cryptocurrency news organization and collaborates with operations, management, and sales teams. ^[4][5]
