Araoz announced his departure from zkSync and the creation of his new project, Sophon, a consumer-focused hyperchain for entertainment and AI applications.

Araoz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy and History from University College London (UCL).

He led DeFi initiatives at the Nervos Foundation, marking a significant role in his early Web3 career before moving to Matter Labs.

Araoz joined Matter Labs, the team behind zkSync, as the Head of Web3, where he gained insights into ZK technology and its limitations for mainstream users.
