Dan Held, often times spelled Hedl, is an American entrepreneur in the blockchain space known for his expertise in business development.   He has been influential in cryptocurrency for always choosing to be paid in Bitcoin, and was major asset in the growth of Blockchain.com.^[1]

Biography

Held was born and raised in the state of Texas and lived there for most of his life.   During his teenage years in high school, he was a star Linebacker.^[4]

Education

Held holds a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and Mays Business School in business administration and finance. He was a part of AggieSAT Lab, AggieSAT 2 “Picosatellite”.^[5]

Career

During and after college, he was a financial analyst intern at Chapwood Capital Investment Management. His time at the firm allowed him to learn more about capital investment and portfolio analysis.

After college, he worked as the VP Asset Management and also as an analyst at Dunhill Partners.

Years later, at Uber, he was the Global Data Lead PPM and also the Head of ASO.^[2]

Blockchain

After working as an analyst in finance, he decided to quit his job, and with a friend developed and co-founded Zeroblock, an app that allows for users to see real-time market data and news feed aggregator pertaining to cryptocurrency on both the iOS and Android.

He would also be the Director of Product at Blockchain.com, which became the de-facto search engine for the Bitcoin economy. He would also work as the lead mobile product manager at ChangeTip.^[3]

At The Picks and Shovels Co, he was the co-founder/director of business development.^[2]
