Tony Jin is the CTO and co-founder of Wormhole, a cross-chain protocol enabling seamless asset transfers and interoperability among diverse blockchain networks. [1]
Jin graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Computer Science. At Stanford, he was a software engineer intern at Sheyna, Inc. and an associate technology manager intern at Google. [1]
In March 2012, Jin co-founded an unnamed video-streaming prototype project focused on being like Twitch for artists and musicians. He then worked for five years as a software engineer and manager at Box, a cloud content management company. In October 2018, he became director of engineering at Twitch, a live-streaming platform, where he supported the IVS Video Clients team and worked on SDKs for mobile and web applications until May 2022. Jin later joined Jump Crypto, the Web3 infrastructure division of Jump Trading LLC, as an engineering manager in October 2022, where he worked with other engineering teams contributing to the Wormhole protocol. In 2023, Jin co-founded Wormhole with his coworkers, Anthony Ramirez and Saeed Badreg. In December 2023, they raised $225M in funding from various VC backers, including Coinbase Ventures, Brevan Howard, Jump Trading, Multicoin Capital, ParaFi, Dialectic, Arrington Capital, and Borderless Capital.
