JC Park (박종춘) is a South Korean financial executive known for his expertise in digital finance and fintech. He is the Chief Digital & Stategy Officer (CDSO) at JB Financial Group and concurrently serves as the Deputy President of the Digital Division for its subsidiaries, Gwangju Bank and Jeonbuk Bank. Born in 1969, Park attended Korea University from 1988 to 1992, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management. He later pursued postgraduate studies abroad, obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Islamic Finance from the National University of Malaysia between 2009 and 2011. Park continued his academic focus on this specialized field, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Islamic Finance from Myongji University in South Korea, with his doctoral studies spanning from 2013 to 2019. In addition to his academic degrees, he holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). [1] [2] [4]
JC Park began his career in the financial sector in 1994 at Shinhan Bank, where he worked for 18 years and rose to the position of Deputy General Manager. He played a significant role in developing the integrated credit rating system following the merger of Shinhan Bank and Chohung Bank and contributed to the design of new methodologies for corporate credit ratings and specialized financing instruments, such as those linked to intellectual property assets.
In 2012, Park joined Hanwha Life Insurance, first as General Manager before being promoted to executive director (상무) and Head of FinTech. In this capacity, he also led the FinTech, Blockchain, and New Business teams.
On December 5, 2019, Park was appointed as the first Chief Digital & Strategy Officer (CDSO) and Managing Director at JB Financial Group. In this role, he was tasked with leading the group’s digital transformation, including the development of a new CDSO organization under the Business Strategy Group. His responsibilities include the systematic management and application of financial data, the execution of data-driven strategies, and the integration of big data and deep technologies. In 2021, his role expanded when he was also appointed Vice President for Digital Affairs at JB Financial Group’s banking subsidiaries, Gwangju Bank and Jeonbuk Bank, where he continues to oversee digital strategy and innovation.
