Jongwook Oh (also known as John Oh) is a South Korean financial executive and entrepreneur with a background in quantitative finance, asset management, and digital assets. He is the co-founder of the fintech company QARASoft. Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of WaveBridge, a firm specializing in developing institutional infrastructure for digital asset trading. [1]
Oh is a graduate of Seoul Science High School. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2007. He later completed a Master of Engineering in Financial Engineering at Yonsei University in 2013. [2]
Oh began his career in the traditional finance sector at Mirae Asset Global Investments, where he worked from 2007 to 2012. During his tenure, he served as a portfolio manager for the Bond Management and Financial Engineering teams, where his responsibilities included managing fixed income funds, enhanced index funds, and derivatives.
In 2012, he moved to Samsung Asset Management to work as a portfolio manager on the Quant Management Team. In this role, which he held until 2014, he managed active stock funds with a focus on quantitative and dividend-oriented investment strategies.
Oh transitioned into the fintech industry in 2014 when he co-founded QARASoft, a company that provides AI-powered robo-advisory services. He served as the company's Chief Financial Officer for four years. In 2018, he left QARASoft and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of WaveBridge. At WaveBridge, he leads the company's efforts to build regulated infrastructure and prime brokerage services for institutional and corporate clients in the digital asset market. [3]
