In 1997, Laura Shin graduated from Stanford University where she studied Modern Thoughts and Literature. In 2007, Laura Shin attended the Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism and studied for a Master of Arts degree in Journalism. [2]

In the early stages of her career, Laura Shin worked as a Producer at The New York Times on the Web and then as a Freelance Writer for 10 years. In 2017, she moved to the role of a Senior Editor at Forbes managing Forbes's coverage of crypto assets, Bitcoin, Ethereum, ICOs, tokens, and blockchain technology.
