Mrinal Manohar is a co-founder and the CEO of CasperLabs, the company behind the Casper Network. [1]
Mrinal Manohar pursued his education at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. He completed his studies from 2006 to 2007 with a distinction in his academic performance. [2]
During his time at Carnegie Mellon University, he served as a Project Leader for the final project in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This experience allowed him to apply his knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios and his understanding of computer science, devices, and related fields. [2]
In January 2006, Mrinal began his professional journey as an Intern at Oracle, where he worked on databases, ACID (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability), and concurrency for 5 months. [3]
Mrinal then joined another internship program at Microsoft as a Program Manager Intern from May 2007 to August 2007. During his time at Microsoft, he wrote and produced technical and workflow specifications, including running performance code. His work focused on enabling web analytics on new breed websites and web-apps. [3]
From August to December 2007, Mrinal worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Project Manager for a student project. He collaborated with the FBI on topics related to the establishment and subversion of online and offline identities, gaining valuable insights into the realm of cybersecurity. [3]
From April 2008 to August 2010, Mrinal joined Bain & Company as an Associate. His primary focus at Bain & Company involved private equity due diligence, M&A advisory, and working with Fortune 500 technology clients. [3]
In August 2010, Mrinal transitioned to Bain Capital as an Associate until October 2012, where he specialized in the North American Private Equity - TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) vertical. During his tenure, he actively participated in investment activities, further expanding his knowledge of the private equity landscape. [3]
From November 2012 to November 2017, Mrinal served as a Principal at Sagard Holdings. In this role, he held the position of Sector Head for Technology, Media, and Telecommunications. Mrinal's responsibilities included strategic decision-making, investment management, and fostering growth within the sector. [3]
In July 2010, Mrinal became an Angel Investor, providing support and investment to various prominent projects and companies. His portfolio includes investments in Ethereum, Tezos, Filecoin, Maker, Blockstack, Basis, Snapchat, Splendid Spoon, and many others. [3]
Since September 2018, Mrinal has been making significant contributions as the CEO and Co-founder of CasperLabs. In this role, he has played a pivotal part in establishing CasperLabs as a leading provider of enterprise-grade, secure, and tamper-proof infrastructure, building the Casper Network up. [3][4]
