Thomas W. Farley was born on December 10, 1975, in New York City, New York.

Farley graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He was also a collegiate baseball player.

Farley was promoted from COO to President of the NYSE Group, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). He held this role until May 2018.

Farley transitioned from traditional finance to the digital asset industry, becoming the Chief Executive Officer of the cryptocurrency exchange Bullish.

As CEO, Farley led Bullish to become the first digital asset exchange to go public on the New York Stock Exchange, trading under the ticker BLSH.
