Education

Andrey Sabelnikov studied computer science at Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, where he earned a master's degree between 2000 and 2003. Prior to that, he attended a technical college from 1995 to 1999.[2]

Career

Andrey Sabelnikov began his software engineering career at AXIOS, where he worked as a developer between 2002 and 2005, contributing to the design and development of Windows-based software systems and application infrastructure. He later joined Agnitum, serving as a senior system developer and subsequently as a project manager from 2005 to 2008, where he worked on network security technologies, protocol analysis, software architecture, and product development.

From 2008 to 2011, Sabelnikov was Lead Research Engineer at Returnil, overseeing research and development related to artificial intelligence, data analysis systems, database architecture, and server-side infrastructure. [1] [4]

Between 2012 and 2014, he served as Senior Lead Developer of the CryptoNote project, where he developed the reference implementation of the CryptoNote protocol, including its networking architecture, wallet software, and core. The implementation later served as the foundation for several privacy-focused , including Monero. [5]

In 2014, Sabelnikov founded Boolberry, a project based on the CryptoNote protocol. He contributed to the development of features such as signature pruning, privacy enhancements, and alternative proof-of-work mechanisms, while maintaining the project after its launch.

Since 2017, he has been a co-founder of , a privacy-oriented platform. At Zano, he has led the redesign of the project's architecture, helped establish its development team, and contributed to the creation of a hybrid / consensus model, multisignature functionality, -based escrow mechanisms, and other core protocol features.
