BLOCX
BLOCX is a blockchain-powered ecosystem that aims to enhance security and efficiency as the "Safety Layer of DePIN" by utilizing the Autolykos 2 algorithm for GPU mining, ensuring ASIC resistance while supporting its masternode layer and governance DAO. [1]
Overview
BLOCX, founded by Rainar Razumovski on July 20, 2023, aims to integrate traditional computing with Web3 technology. It transitioned from the X11 to Autolykos 2 algorithm to support GPU mining while maintaining ASIC resistance, alongside its masternode layer and governance DAO.
The platform's Computer Manager is designed to address digital needs by providing tools for security, management, and monetization. The BLOCX Mainnet Coin incorporates features of Bitcoin, Dash, and Ergo, seeking to bridge Web2 and Web3. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Features
Masternodes
BLOCX aims to enhance functionality through masternodes, which support InstantSend for quick transactions, CoinJoin for privacy, and ChainLocks to improve blockchain security. Its governance system allows stakeholders to vote on proposals, with 7% of block rewards directed toward development. Operating a masternode requires holding 100,000 BLOCX and provides voting rights and eligibility for block reward incentives. [5]
InstantSend
BLOCX aims to improve transaction speed through InstantSend, utilizing masternodes to validate and lock transaction inputs. This system reduces delays typical in traditional cryptocurrencies, enabling near-instant transaction confirmation without relying on centralized authority. [5]
ChainLocks
BLOCX aims to mitigate blockchain reorganizations with ChainLocks, enabling quicker and more secure payment acceptance. Every 12 hours, a Long-Living Masternode Quorum (LLMQ) observes and confirms newly mined blocks. If 60% of the quorum agrees, a ChainLock Signature (CLSIG) is broadcast, ensuring that clients reject conflicting blocks and preventing reorganizations before the confirmed block. [5]
Non-Custodial Wallet
BLOCX aims to provide a secure, decentralized experience through its Non-Custodial Wallet, which allows users to access the platform. The wallet enables management of assets across networks, asset transfers between chains, tracking of transactions, and creation and management of masternodes, along with participation in governance through voting. [6]
Community
The Community section aims to provide a space for user interaction and partner integration. It allows users to access cryptocurrency news, engage in campaigns, and explore certified projects through a launchpad, where they can submit applications and assist with fundraising. [6]
Malware Protection
BLOCX Desktop aims to provide enhanced security through a malware protection system that integrates AI and code sniffing. It offers several scanning options, including a quick scan for frequently accessed directories, a full system scan, a custom scan for specific files or folders, and a real-time scan to continuously monitor for potential threats. [6]
Device Health
The Device Health section of BLOCX aims to enhance system performance with several optimization tools. It includes a system optimizer designed to remove unnecessary background processes, a battery saver that seeks to extend battery life by reducing CPU usage, and a feature that identifies outdated drivers and suggests updates. Additionally, the afterburner tool aims to improve GPU performance for tasks such as gaming and mining through overclocking. [6]
Internet Services
The Internet Services section of BLOCX aims to offer tools for secure and private browsing. It includes a safe browser designed to limit tracking and ads, a high-speed VPN for enhanced privacy, and a remote access tool for device management. [6]
Password Vault
The Password Vault aims to provide secure password storage by using decentralized, encrypted local storage, accessible only through the non-custodial wallet. Access is restricted to users who verify their identity with a password and PIN. It offers a free mode for note-style storage and an account format to organize passwords with domains, usernames, and notes. [6]
AI Assistant
The AI Assistant aims to automate tasks to improve productivity. It includes a website scanner designed to assess safety, scam detection by checking Telegram and Discord usernames against a blacklist, and a blockchain contract scanner to identify vulnerabilities. Additionally, it features a crypto-oriented chatbot that assists with cryptocurrency analysis, image generation, and answering web-related queries. [6]
Monetization
The Monetization section aims to enable users to generate income by utilizing idle computing power, offering GRIDBOX and collaborating with partners from AI, DePIN, gaming, and DeFi sectors to provide various earning opportunities. [6]
GridBox
BLOCX includes GRIDBOX, a decentralized platform designed to enable users to rent and monetize GPU power. It supports multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and various GPU types (NVIDIA, AMD, M).
GRIDBOX aims to cater to different user groups, including:
- AI Developers, who can use the platform to monetize or access additional GPU resources for model training.
- Gamers and Creators, who may rent GPUs to enhance performance.
- Crypto Miners, who can expand their mining operations by renting out unused GPU power.
- Data Analysts, who can process large datasets without requiring expensive hardware. The platform offers a straightforward setup process and customizable templates to accommodate a range of applications. [6]
Ecosystem
Autolykos2
BLOCX utilizes the Autolykos2 algorithm for its PoW mechanism, which is designed to be memory-intensive and efficient for GPU mining. The algorithm aims to resist ASIC development by requiring substantial memory, which makes it difficult and costly for ASICs to outperform GPUs. It also adjusts the mining difficulty based on network conditions. By being optimized for GPUs, Autolykos2 seeks to support a more decentralized mining environment, allowing individual miners with standard hardware to participate effectively. [6] [7]
DarkWaveGravity
BLOCX uses the DarkWaveGravity algorithm for difficulty adjustment, which aims to stabilize the network by adjusting the mining difficulty every minute. This helps maintain a consistent block generation rate despite changes in computational power. [6]
Tokenomics
BLOCX Token ($BLOCKX)
$BLOCX is the native cryptocurrency of the BLOCX ecosystem. It aims to facilitate staking, governance, and access to premium features while supporting resource monetization and network security. It contributes to the overall stability and growth of the ecosystem. [6]
Allocation
The total supply of $BLOCX is capped at 169,000,000 coins. A premine of 3,000,000 coins is allocated, accounting for 5% of the total supply. The distribution is structured as follows:
- 44% is allocated for mining rewards,
- 44% is designated for masternode rewards, divided between regular and lite masternodes,
- 4% is assigned to the development fund. Additionally, 100,000 BLOCX are allocated for regular masternodes, and 10,000 BLOCX are allocated for lite masternodes. The block time is set at 1 minute, with 6 blocks required for confirmations and 15 blocks for block maturity. This allocation aims to ensure network stability and incentivize participation. [6] [8]
Utility
BLOCX coin serves as a key element in the ecosystem, supporting several functionalities:
- Premium Features: Provides access to advanced tools and services within the ecosystem.
- Staking Rewards: Allows users to stake BLOCX coins and earn rewards, promoting active network participation and enhancing security.
- Governance: Enables users to vote on key proposals, contributing to the decision-making process and the future direction of the network. [6]
Governance
BLOCX utilizes a decentralized governance model powered by masternode operators, who participate in decision-making through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Each masternode is granted one vote on proposed changes, and if a proposal is approved, it is funded through a "superblock" system.
A portion of the block reward, specifically 7%, is allocated for governance purposes. Proposals can be submitted by community members, and if they receive approval from at least 10% of masternodes, they are funded from the superblock. This approach aims to ensure long-term decentralization and network sustainability. [9] [10]
