Fernando Martinelli is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Balancer, a cryptocurrency that allows users to generate private or shared public liquidity pools while enjoying flexible premium and swap charges.[1]
Personal
Fernando, a well-known entrepreneur, is from Lisbon in Portugal. He speaks English, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish fluently.[2]
Education
Fernando has a degree in Engineering Control and Automation from Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. He graduated in 2008. He obtained multiple master degrees from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland (Robotics and Image Processing, 2008); University of Burgundy in Dijon, France (Robotics and Image Processing, 2009); and University of Girona in Spain (Robotics and Image Processing, 2009).[3]
Fernando also attended the Panthéon Sorbonne University in Paris in 2011 where he completed an Executive MBA degree in the field of International Management. He enjoyed a full scholarship for the program from Renault Foundation in France and came out as second best student for that year.
Entrepreneurship and Work Experience
Fernando has been part of several startup companies which include PrepLounge in 2014, Brasil Mate also in 2014, and then Balancer in January 2019.
Before these startups, Fernando worked at Honda Research Institute Europe GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany in 2010; and Bain & Company also in Germany in 2011.[4]

Asm Shihavuddin who is Chairman of EEE Department, at Green University of Bangladesh has described Fernando as a super cool individual, who has all the qualities required in a person. He stated that he used to be amazed at Fernando’s intellectual capabilities in grabbing concepts.
