Kent Yeyang Lin is an entrepreneur, investor, and computer scientist known primarily as the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Optimum, a decentralized infrastructure project. He has held roles in venture capital at GSRV, leadership positions at Harvard Blockchain, and serves on committees within the Singapore FinTech Association. [1] [2]
Kent Lin pursued studies in aerospace engineering, earning a Bachelor of Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor’s degree (Honours with Distinction) from Nanyang Technological University. He later completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management at Harvard Business School, part of Harvard University. Prior to his university education, he attended Anglo-Chinese Junior College, where he completed A-level studies in science. [3]
Kent Lin began his career as an entrepreneur and consultant, founding Easy Ace in 2015, where he served as Chief Executive Officer until 2017. He later co-founded the Singapore chapter of ShARE and worked on strategy and growth projects for early-stage companies. From 2018 to 2019, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising corporations and public sector clients on strategy, digital transformation, and financial services initiatives.
Between 2019 and 2021, Lin worked at FutureLabs Ventures in Singapore, where he held roles including Chief of Staff and Venture Builder, focusing on developing and scaling new ventures. During this period, he also served as a private investor in Shengyuan Environmental Protection. From 2021 to 2022, he joined Plug and Play Tech Center, where he led crypto and Web3 initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region and worked on corporate partnerships in financial technology.
Lin became a founding member and investor at Alumni & Angels between 2021 and 2023. He later joined GSR Ventures as a Partner from 2022 to 2023, focusing on investments in fintech, artificial intelligence, and blockchain sectors. In 2023–2024, he served as President of Harvard Blockchain, where he contributed to organizing industry events and initiatives.
In 2024, Lin co-founded Optimum, where he serves as Co-Founder. He has also contributed to industry organizations such as the Singapore FinTech Association as part of its Crypto and Web3 Committee since 2019 and has acted as an advisor to projects including Tephra Digital. [1] [2] [3]
