Ken Deeter started his higher education at Princeton University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He then completed his education at the University of British Columbia, obtaining a master’s degree in Computer Science. During his studies, he conducted research for his master's thesis focusing on using mobile agents for intrusion detection and data analysis. His academic pursuits centered around networking, human-computer interaction (HCI), information visualization, and graphics. 
Ken Deeter has had an extensive career in the technology industry as a software engineer and in product management. His professional journey spans over 15 years, starting with his tenure at VMware Inc. as a Senior Member of Technical Staff from October 2004 to March 2010. 
Following his time at VMware, Ken joined Facebook in April 2010 as a Software Engineer, where he spent eight years and eight months honing his skills and contributing to various projects within the company. 
In November 2018, Ken Deeter left Facebook and became a Partner at Electric Capital, a venture capital firm. In this role, he has been focused on identifying and investing in promising blockchain and cryptocurrency projects. 
Throughout his career, Ken Deeter has participated in multiple funding rounds. His notable investments include Spruce, where he participated in the Series A funding round in April 2022, which raised $34 million, and Syndicate, where he participated in the seed round in March 2021, raising $1 million.  In 2023, he participated in a funding round for Term Finance, where the company behind it raised a $2.5 million seed round led by Electric Capital.
