He was a member of the financial center optimization strategy team, where he worked on a multi-year planning framework and the implementation of a channel-wide optimization model that included hub-and-spoke configurations, flexible staffing, and revised operating behaviors. He also participated in the deployment of a Microsoft SharePoint tracking tool for employees transitioning to remote support roles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional responsibilities included updating the financial center intranet, consolidating internal process frameworks, and coordinating sales process workshops and web-based training.
From January 2014 to January 2018, Martinez served as Senior Vice President, Convenient Banking Portfolio Manager. In that role, he managed initiatives related to online banking, mobile banking, ATMs, and digital payment services. He worked with Digital, ATM, Small Business, and Treasury teams on cross-functional projects and participated in the national deployment of Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zelle, and Erica®.
His responsibilities included managing the Convenient Banking Adoption program, coordinating the rollout of new mobile banking features, overseeing the deployment schedule for multi-denomination ATMs, and developing employee training materials for digital banking initiatives. During this period, he participated in 62 projects related to digital banking adoption and implementation.
Between October 2010 and January 2014, Martinez served as Senior Vice President, Process Design Consultant II. His work involved process design, workflow analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams using Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies.
Projects completed during this period included redesigning the account opening workflow, participating in the implementation of the "Bank by Appointment" program across more than 4,000 branches, working with UX teams on the development of a tablet-based client application, updating mobile banking incentive tracking processes, and piloting a digital client onboarding process that was later implemented across the organization.
From July 2000 to October 2010, Martinez held several positions at Bank of America, including Process Design Consultant II – Associate Readiness Design, Consumer Market Manager – Austin Market, Market Training Leader – Central New Mexico & Southern Arizona, Banking Center Manager, and Personal Banker.
Martinez has also served as Campaign Co-Chair for the Bank of America Employee Campaign.
Martinez serves on the board of directors of Caritas of Austin. His involvement with the organization began through participation in the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot fundraising event. At Caritas of Austin, the organization provides services related to housing, food, education, employment, and homelessness.
He has also participated in United Way for Greater Austin as a founding committee member of the Young Leaders Society (YLS) and as a member of the Hands On Central Texas Advisory Council.
