Perceptron Network is a decentralized AI data infrastructure project that pays users for contributing idle bandwidth and real-world data for AI training. The network merged with BlockMesh in June 2025 to form the current combined project. [1]
Perceptron Network began as an independent project focused on decentralizing AI data collection. In June 2025, the network merged with BlockMesh, a project with a global network of more than 700,000 devices gathering and structuring public web data. The merger combined the two networks' capabilities and preserved historical data connections and participation incentives for former BlockMesh participants. [2] As of late July 2026, Perceptron Network reported more than 800,000 nodes across over 150 countries and more than 300,000 daily active contributors. [3]
In July 2026, the project warned that a widely circulated screenshot claiming to show a Perceptron NFT was a social media fake. The company clarified that any legitimate NFTs predating the rebrand were a legacy of the original BlockMesh project, and that its token airdrop would instead be based on points earned through contribution and network participation. [2]
In July 2026, Perceptron closed a $6.5 million strategic funding round from investors including Sigma Capital and Selini Capital, among others, to support the launch of its data-questing platform. [1]
Perceptron Network is built on a distributed architecture composed of Perceptron Nodes, Perceptron Agents, and PERCs. Perceptron Nodes gather and structure public data using contributors' unused bandwidth. Perceptron Agents interact with users on platforms such as Discord, Telegram, and WeChat to assist with real-time labeling and verification. PERCs (Proof-based Engagement Reward Certificates) function as a trust layer, using proof-based NFTs to record reputation and rewards tied to contribution and participation. [4]
Perceptron is developing a data-questing platform that enables AI companies to commission specific, verified datasets directly from the contributor network, aiming to compress the data-request-to-delivery timeline to a matter of days. Data collected through idle consumer bandwidth is verified by centralized AI models for quality control before delivery to clients. Contributors earn points based on participation and contribution quality, which are scheduled to convert into native crypto tokens. The company reportedly acquired a transaction and payment verification company to help automate data validation. [3]
In July 2026, Perceptron closed a $6.5 million strategic funding round from investors including Sigma Capital and Selini Capital, among others, to support the launch of its data-questing platform. In addition to its $6.5 million strategic funding round, Perceptron launched a $10 million AI Data Fund in July 2026 to support independent AI developers and early-stage projects, offering up to five weeks of data infrastructure assistance and up to 5 TB of free real-world data. Perceptron Network was co-founded by Peter Anthony, who serves as CEO. He is UK-based and currently living in Dubai. Peter Anthony studied at the University of Southampton and entered crypto around 2019 through a background in trading across forex, stocks, and traditional markets. He also runs The House of Crypto, a crypto YouTube channel. [4]
