Alice Chen

Alice Chen is a Singapore-based lawyer and entrepreneur whose career has focused on financial law, real estate transactions, , and fintech. She is co-founder and General Counsel of InvestaX and IX Swap, and has also held legal and industry roles with firms and organizations including Skadden, DLA Piper, Lateral Link, and the Singapore FinTech Association. Education

Chen earned a BA in International Relations and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She later attended USC Gould School of Law, where she earned her JD in 2004. [2]

Career

Chen began her legal career at Dewey & LeBoeuf in Los Angeles in 2004, followed by a position at DLA Piper from 2005 to 2008. At DLA Piper, she worked on commercial mortgage lending and securitization transactions, as well as acquisitions and dispositions involving real estate developers and investors. She then joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in 2008, working in Shanghai and Tokyo on transactions involving real estate acquisitions, development, joint ventures, financing, and restructuring for multinational financial institutions, investment banks, and funds. From 2013 to 2015, Chen served as Director of International Placements at Lateral Link in Singapore. In 2015, she co-founded InvestaX and became its General Counsel, combining legal responsibilities with the development of the company's digital-asset and tokenization activities. She later co-founded IX Swap in 2021, serving as General Counsel alongside her role at InvestaX.

Chen has also held a range of industry and educational roles. She served as a subcommittee member and director of special projects at ACCESS Singapore from 2018 to 2019, was a foundation council member of the Global ICO Transparency Alliance from 2018 to 2019, and served as a Digital Financing Subcommittee Chair at the Singapore FinTech Association from 2021 to 2024. She has been a guest lecturer at SMU Academy since 2019, teaching on and , and has participated in professional organizations including TechGC and 100 Women in Finance. She also served as a mentor at TZ APAC from 2022 to 2024 and became an Executive Committee Member of the Singapore FinTech Association in 2025. [3] [6] [7]
