Armin Ronacher

Armin Ronacher (May 10, 1989) in Austria is an open source software developer and the creator of the web application development tool, Flask web framework, for Python.

He has regularly been a featured speaker at developer conferences. And he has a popular blog on software development and open source. Thoughts and Writings.[2]

As a freelance developer he started his work in open source for the German Ubuntu community portal "ubuntuusers".[3]

There, he used the Python programming language and wrote the first implementations for WSGI with the aim to write a Python bulletin board together with Georg Brandl, which was to be called "Pocoo".[4]

Experience and Contributions

He is the creator of the CMS Lektor.
In 2005 he founded the German Ubuntu Association.[5]
He has also worked on Plurk, Fireteam and Sentry.

2003: 2nd place in the Prix Ars Electronica 2003 in the under-19 freestyle computing category for "Be a Bee "13.
2012: Member of the Python Software Foundation14
2014: Community Service Award from the Python Software Foundation for his work in the Python open-source community15
