Bulls on the Block is a Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) collection of 10,000 unique Bulls, designed by popular artist Rui Duarte. It is also the first NFT community with a wallet^[1][2].

History

The Bulls on the Block story started with Bored Ape Yacht Club. The team met through the Bored Ape community and were amazed at the power of what the power of community can do^[3][4].

The team got together and started brainstorming around things they could do for the community. In the process, they noticed that to build a community, they would need to produce some fresh ideas. After a lot of iterations, the team came up with the idea of Bulls on the Block, the first NFT community with a wallet. These bulls were to be released as a set of 10,000 programmatically generated Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), that include over 250 items.

The Bears On The Block

The Bears arrived after the Bulls. The community's "Bears On The Block" was a companion drop. Each bearer of a Bull was able to mint a Bear with the same token ID. The Bears were completely unrestricted (save for gas), and the attributes were completely random.

The Bull Have Change

Rui had thoughts of an "evolved" bull not long after the initial "Bulls On The Block" collection was released, setting a new bar of artistic intricacy in the generative NFT area.

Over 1.7K people have created their own Bull. By Evolving bull, owners will be able to move their original bull to the vault, which presently houses over 5,000 original bulls. On October 15, 2022, the evolved bull became the key to unlocking the original bull.

Overview

All 10,000 Bulls are programmatically generated from over 250 items. The art is designed by popular artist Rui Duarte. The Bulls use the ERC-721 token contract on the Ethereum blockchain and are hosted on InterPlanetary File System^[5].
GaryVee Bull

All Bulls are minted from the official website for a fixed price of 0.08 ETH + gas fee (cryptocurrency), with a maximum purchase amount of 10 Bulls per transaction.

The Bulls on the Block collection was released on June 27, 2021. As of July 9, the Bulls on the Block volume traded is 2,000 ETH.

Traits & Species

One of the platform's challenges was combining aesthetics with playfulness, giving the community a new level of detail and beauty. Bulls on the Block co-founder and designer Rui Duarte pushed the boundaries on these parts and this resulted in 5 different species.

Each species have their own types of mouth and eyes, to strengthen the aesthetics of the species. Besides species, all bulls have access to the following traits: background, fur, horns, eyes, mouth, glasses, earring, chain, hat, and clothes. There are a total of 279 drawings.

Celebrity and Honorary BOTB

Prior to the drop, some Bulls were minted as giveaways and to celebrate and honor the Bulls On The Block Collection. These are Bulls not part of the 10,000 collection and were specifically designed for pre-launch activities. These include Gary Vaynerchuk Bull, Jacob Martin Bull, Donald Trump Bull, Elvis Presley Bull, and more^[6].

Community Wallet

To keep an incoming flow, the "Bulls of the Block" platform also uses the secondary sales transaction fees to fill the wallet. The platform has put a 3% transaction fee for all secondary sales on OpenSea, 2% goes to the community wallet, and 1% to the BOTB Team.

All BOTB members have access to a Discord channel where they can post suggestions for the wallet on how the money should be spent. There will be a vote for the community on the best suggestions^[7][8].
