Glenn (Deok Soo) Woo is a business leader in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) financial technology and blockchain sectors. As of January 2025, he serves as the Head of APAC at Blockdaemon, where he leads regional operations. His career began in traditional finance and includes extensive experience at firms such as S&P Global Market Intelligence and Shinhan Financial Group before he transitioned into the blockchain industry in 2018 with Ledger. Glenn Woo completed a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies between 2003 and 2010. He previously attended Daewon Foreign Language High School, where he studied Chinese Language and Literature from 2000 to 2003. [3]
Glenn Woo has held senior sales and regional leadership roles across financial services and digital asset infrastructure. He joined Blockdaemon in April 2022 as Head of Sales for the Asia-Pacific region (April 2022 – February 2025) and was subsequently appointed Head of APAC in January 2025, overseeing regional operations related to node and staking infrastructure services (January 2025 – present).
Prior to Blockdaemon, Woo worked at Ledger, serving as Managing Director and Head of APAC from October 2019 to May 2022. Before this appointment, he was Senior Director and Head of Sales at Ledger from October 2018 to October 2019, where his responsibilities focused on expanding institutional digital asset custody and security solutions across Asia-Pacific markets.
Earlier in his career, Woo spent nearly eight years at S&P Global Market Intelligence (formerly S&P Capital IQ). He served as Senior Director and Head of Sales from January 2017 to October 2018, Director and Head of Sales from January 2015 to December 2017, Associate Director from January 2014 to December 2014, and Senior Sales Associate from January 2011 to December 2013. During this period, he helped establish local operations in Seoul and managed regional sales teams across Hong Kong and South Korea.
Before moving into market intelligence and digital assets, Woo worked at Shinhan Financial Group as a Junior Consultant in asset custody and fund administration from July 2009 to December 2010. He also completed an internship with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Manila from December 2008 to July 2009. He previously served in the Republic of Korea Army from 2004 to 2006, attaining the rank of sergeant in the artillery division. [2] [3]
