Banana Conference
Held in June 2024, Ksenia Stark and her co-founder, Stewart Rogers discussed the need to shift away from traditional, manipulative marketing tactics, which they call "darketing," in favor of a more values-driven approach in the web3 world. They emphasize the importance of building communities based on shared values like diversity, equity, inclusion, collaboration, and transparency. According to them, the current internet economy has become overly transactional, driven by capitalist ideals that prioritize speed and profit over meaningful connections. [10]
They advocate for a new business model in web3 that centers around co-creation, collaboration, and direct engagement with communities, instead of following traditional, competitive, and profit-driven practices. [10]
Stark and Rogers stress the importance of conscious leadership and ethical decision-making, encouraging individuals and businesses to take responsibility for their actions and align with brands that reflect their values. Ultimately, they propose that collaboration should replace competition as the primary growth strategy, fostering a sustainable ecosystem where everyone can benefit and thrive. [10]
