She later joined Deloitte Consulting as a Manager in its Strategy & Operations practice, where she advised the banking and securities industry and specialized in technology and digital identity.

Following her time in the private sector, Renier transitioned to public service. She joined the U.S. Department of the Treasury, serving first as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary for Domestic Finance. In this capacity, she led the department's policy development on financial technology and innovation, with a subject matter focus on digital assets, , and artificial intelligence. Between 2019 and 2020, she served as the Senior Counselor for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes.

From 2020 to 2021, Renier served in the Executive Office of the President as a Program Associate Director at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). In this role, she was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of federal government agencies, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Commerce, and the Small Business Administration.

On January 1, 2022, Renier was appointed Managing Director of Digital Finance at the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in Washington, D.C. She leads the IIF's work on digital finance policy, shaping the industry's engagement with global standard setters and policymakers. Her purview includes digital assets, (CBDCs), payments innovation, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, (DLT), and cybersecurity.
