Yudan Yi is a prominent researcher and director in the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) field. Her career spans critical roles in major organizations dedicated to advancing positioning and navigation technologies, particularly in the areas of real-time kinematic (RTK) services and geodesic research. She is currently the Head of GNSS at GEODNET, where she plays a pivotal role in steering the development of one of the world's largest RTK networks. [1]
Yudan Yi earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Geodetic Science from Wuhan University. He later obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geodetic Science from Tongji University before completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geodetic Science at The Ohio State University. [2]
Yudan Yi has worked in the field of high-precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies for nearly two decades. He began his career at Topcon Positioning Systems, where he served as a Senior Research Scientist from 2006 to 2016, focusing on GNSS positioning algorithms. He subsequently joined Qianxun SI as a Research Scientist, continuing his work on high-accuracy positioning technologies, before becoming Senior Director at ACEINNA from 2018 to 2021.
In 2021, Yi co-founded GEODNET, a decentralized GNSS real-time kinematic (RTK) network designed to support centimeter-level positioning for applications such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and autonomous vehicles. The same year, he co-founded HYFIX, where he serves as Chief Technology Officer, developing chips for autonomous systems. Between 2022 and 2024, he also worked as Principal GNSS/INS Engineer at ANELLO, contributing to the development of GNSS and inertial navigation algorithms, while representing GeosunNav's UAV LiDAR solutions in the North American market.
