Beatriz Callaghan is a business development and strategy leader in the financial technology (fintech) and blockchain sectors, with a concentration on the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. She leads APAC Business Development & Strategy for Digital Asset, a company that develops open-source and enterprise tokenization solutions. Beatriz Callaghan pursued undergraduate studies in international economics, political economy, and related fields across institutions in Europe and Asia. She attended The American University of Paris, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics between 2013 and 2017. During her studies, she also spent an academic period at New York University Shanghai, focusing on business political economy and Chinese studies from 2015 to 2016. Her secondary education included A-level coursework in economics at St Mary’s School Ascot. [3]
Beatriz Callaghan’s professional background spans business development, sales, and strategy roles across financial services, digital assets, and technology-focused organizations, primarily in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. She joined Digital Asset in 2020, initially serving as a Sales Executive before progressing to Sales Director in 2022. Based in Hong Kong, her responsibilities have centered on supporting the adoption of enterprise blockchain and distributed ledger solutions among institutional clients in the region. Her work has involved engagement with financial institutions and market infrastructure providers exploring tokenization, settlement, and ledger technologies.
Prior to Digital Asset, Callaghan held business development roles at STACS and the Gibraltar Stock Exchange, where she focused on partnerships and market expansion related to financial and blockchain infrastructure. She was also associated with the Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange as an associate during its early development phase. Earlier in her career, she gained experience in e-commerce and technology through a business development analyst role at Lazada Group, part of Alibaba, and completed internships in finance, trade, and investment management at organizations including CAF America, Amber Road, Lombard Odier Investment Managers, and Harwood Capital.
