Dissolution

Dissolution (Launched August 2019) is an -based, Blockchain-powered, action-packed game, developed as a Science fiction First-Person Shooter game with RPG elements. Designed by Garage Studios, Dissolution features -backed collectible items, and its in-game cryptocurrencies, $DIS, $LP, and $OMEN, provide its users with tokenized utilities alongside a holistic gameplay experience.[1][9]

Overview

Dissolution is a Free-to-play game (FPS) set in its fiction-based gamified universe ravaged by what the ecosystem called 'rogue AI'.

Dissolution (NFT Game), Co-founded by Houston Song and Adam MacDonald and developed by Garage Studios was designed with the ultimate end goal of creating an open-world MMORPG. Since beginning development about two years ago, Dissolution has launched a 32-person Free-to-play mode and has seen 5-figure sales from in-game NFTs sales.

Initially built inside the Enjin Multiverse, Dissolution recently made the decision to move to its own platform to continue development. The team plans to initially continue using the ERC-1155 token standard but has expressed interest in exploring new avenues to adjust to the rising congestion found on the Ethereum network.

The Dissolution Game Players are introduced into hostile environments to compete for resources and territory.

The gaming ecosystem provides gaming PVP and PvE battles with real-world stakes on the line, allowing its players to team up with their friends and intensely experience its gameplay.

As crypto enthusiasts and gamers, Dissolution is a dream game, whose end goal is to create a living, breathing MMORPG. Its biggest priority is to immerse its users into the universe, not only through high-level visual fidelity but also through a realistic economy backed by the blockchain.

Built by Unreal Engine 4, Dissolution plans to expand further and further into the solar system as the player base grows, eventually implementing an interplanetary procedural exploration system.

Storyline

Dissolution is described as an MMPORG game that is set in its solar system 400 years into the future, after a war of extinction between humanity and its children

  • the AI. The game explained that its Earth has been destroyed by its own weapons of mass destruction to contain the AI threat from spreading throughout the solar system.

The Storyline for the NFT based game describes how that through great sacrifice, humanity was able to survive, spreading across the solar system under the unified banner of the Inter-Planetary Defence Force or IPDF. However, IPDF forces are reported to spread thin and are struggling to maintain control of its sectors.

Meanwhile, there are rumors of a looming AI space fleet, circulating the system beyond human sensors and slowly preparing for a second attack.

For Dissolution, the story is about Humanity dwindling and what remains of the government is in a state of dissolution.

End User's Game Role

The user's input in the storyline comes into play as each player can choose to help advance the story in whatever direction they desire. Less scrupulous players will choose to take advantage of the chaos to rob, kill, and terrorize other players. But if you get too much notoriety, the IPDF (Inter-Planetary Defence Force) may deploy to settle things.

A dynamic storytelling experience is descriptively going to emerge through updates to the game, based on every player's decisions. Too much chaos and internal fighting may cause the remnants of the Artificial intelligence troops to rally and attack. Likewise, a unified front will help deter them from attacking and may help push them back.

Players will be allowed a great deal of freedom and personal choice in how they play the game. Users will be able to purchase assets and get involved in a real free-floating economy determined by players.

A central marketplace will allow free trading to take place between players.

From the moment a user starts their game journey, their choices will guide them in their own unique direction and provide a self-tailored experience of life in the great beyond. [1]

Gameplay

The Dissolution (NFT Game) gameplay was developed with a quality user experience and immersive User interface. The NFT-game has both FPS and space vehicles in its gameplay.
ss_073ca56b0e4a5594d19c851649575c70d571637c600x338jpg.jpeg

Dissolution was designed to be immersive both in its in-game economy and combat. Dissolution is a lively game, which implies every action its user (i.e gamer) takes in the game will have real-time consequences.

Within its gameplay, if its users attack a trading route as a pirate cutting off the supply route of the same ore, it would have the opposite effect.

Dissolution was developed to allow players to have a great deal of freedom and personal choice in how they play the game. [10]

Within the dissolution game interface, its users will be able to purchase:

  • properties,
  • vehicles,
  • weapons,
  • trade stocks and bonds, and get involved in a free-floating economy where prices are decided by supply and demand. Y
  • The dissolution game users could be a pacifist and not even own a firearm or become ruthless pirates pillaging supply ships and leaving no survivors.
  • The gameplay was designed alongside its marketplace, which will allow free trading to take place between players (PvP).

Gameplay Features

Factions and alignment

ss_1b6c7ac74db02762d362e390069db7d358674b78600x338jpg.jpeg
Dissolution game player characters are designed to make decisions throughout the game as to whichever side such player support. Based on his decisions, he will end up in one of five factions:

  • Military or pro-government
  • Merchant
  • Independent or neutral
  • Opportunist
  • AI Sympathizer
  • Weapons
  • Player characters within the Dissolution gameplay were designed to be able to accumulate three different styles of weapons. Accessible weapons within dissolution include
Choice & Destiny

Users are given the opportunity to choose their path within the gameplay, thus contributing to its storyline.

  • Users can become a trader,
  • Users can be IPDF (Inter-Planetary Defence Force)
  • Users can become treasure hunters,
  • Users can provide guns for hire
  • Users can also be a pirate.

No matter where their interests lie, there's ample opportunity for them to make their mark in the vacuum of power and space.

Mining

Another key feature of this NFT gameplay is its mining. Here, certain areas of space were designated as “resource-rich.” Within these zones called 'resource-rich', game players (i.e end-users) will be able to mine the in-game currency, which is called $OMEN. OMEN is a blockchain-backed cryptocurrency that can be freely traded on exchanges.

Digital collectibles

Dissolution will contain digital collectibles that are ERC-721 tokens. These items will record information over time and change based on character progression.

For example, weapons will record how many enemies are killed by them and will evolve over time as more kills are recorded. Similarly, character actions will be recorded on the blockchain, and characters will grow more powerful as they accomplish actions within the game.

Graphics and sound

The graphics and sound in Dissolution are what we would expect from a top-notch first-person shooter. The company has spared no expense to produce a realistic space-horror environment.

In our first gameplay test, our character boarded a spaceship filled with zombies. Eerie atmospheric sounds could be heard throughout the encounter.

Game Options

The game option is another major feature provided to configure the game. Field of view can be increased or decreased, as can HUD opacity, mouse sensitivity, and motion blur. Other alterable feature includes Anti-aliasing, shadow quality, texture quality, and other graphical elements.

These options were made available for users (i.e players) who don’t have the most advanced gaming PCs to adjust the game so that it will run smoothly. And it should allow players to adjust the controls to suit their own playstyle.

Game Control

The game control is a set of keys, functionally designed to be able to move the character from a point to another. By default, the character can be moved using the W, S, D, and A keys. Left-clicking fires the gun. The R key reloads, and F interacts with video screens and other environmental objects.

All of these controls can be altered using the controls option screen, and the player can keybind actions to whichever keys he wants.

Weapons and armor

A basic requirement for the players' character is the weapon and arsenal. Included in the game is an Armory menu. Players can use this to outfit their characters with gear.

For now, it provides an extensive list of weapons and armor that will be available in the game

Lobby (server) options

The server option is the game's feature that provides a user (i.e player) with a server as related to the player's location.

  • When the end-user hits the play button from the main menu, this displays a list of regions.
  • Players must have kept details about their region/location with the game.
  • This region could be for example in (US East Coast, US West Coast, Germany, etc.), the game searches for a “lobby” or server for him to play on.

Users can easily/simply create a server themselves.

Using the game function 'The lobby-creator', allows any user to easily set the number of players allowed in the game, which starting map will be used; how many zombies per player, and other aspects of the game

  • all designed by implementing this lobby-creator.
Game Modes

There are categories of game modes in dissolution games. This include:

  • The zombie mode
  • The assault mode
  • The raid modes.

In assault mode, the player tries to capture territory while fighting against AI drones. The drones shoot back, so we found this game mode to be much more difficult than the zombie one.

How to play the Dissolution

The Dissolution currently gaining public traction and it is in its Alpha stage. A copy of its accessible gameplay is now made available on the platform's website and downloadable over Google Play. Dissolution is currently a mobile version of the full PC game, with its emphasis on space mining elements.

Users can pick their ship, navigate around space dodging large asteroids and harvesting ore, but watch out for hostile Artificial intelligence which will engage them. Users

Blockchain & Dissolution

Dissolution (NFT Game) was designed using the Ethereum Blockchain. Initially, the Dissolution (NFT Game) was also onboarded in the summer of 2019 to the Enjin ecosystem. Dissolution made her choice on the blockchain as its technology-based platform for launching its MMPORG Game because of three key reasons.

True ownership of in-game assets

The gaming ecosystem utilized the blockchain as it allows players to own their hard-earned items outside of its game server as a Blockchain token. Initially, Dissolution used Enjin's ERC1155 platform to tokenize its assets. This token could be held in users' wallets, after which the users are free to do as they like with it, unlike other games which do not permit players to trade items with each other.

Ease of Player Monetization

Dissolution was built not as a typical MMORPG where players will participate in many competitive and collaborative community activities alone, but such incentivizing its players as they earn higher levels and items, as it brings them more respect within their community. Due to this, players are highly motivated to pay real money for attractive items, which allowed players who were willing to sell them to make a decent profit.

Blockchain expedites this process by allowing players to trade on established exchanges such as Opensea which takes a very small percentage in comparison to its centralized competitors such as Steam.

Real Economics

Blockchains are able to enforce realism in a video game economy due to their immutability and transparency. A general use-case is counteracting the effects of hyper-inflation commonly seen in MMO titles by controlling an item's supply on the blockchain. Blockchains increase the collectibility of rare items by limiting their supply in-game. This effect strengthens the lore and overall immersion of a title.

Blockchains also provide players the freedom to interact with other players without the use of a centralized third party.

Dissolution X Enjin

Houston Song, CEO of Garage studios and team-lead on Dissolution Game explained their reason for leaving the Enjin Blockchain to remain on the Ethereum network.

Song stated that Dissolution’s vision for Blockchain gaming does not align with Enjin anymore, and the company decided to experiment with new ways to implement Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

DISSOLUTION : It's an Enjin Coin

  • Blockchain Game
For the Team Dissolution, the prospects with ETH 2.0 and the sharding update as a scalability solution, will bring a lot of complexity to the smart contracts of games, eventually leading to multiple errors.

Houston expressed his displeasure over the transfer fees in ENJ on top of the already overpriced ETH gas fees, and disagrees with the ENJ-backed value of NFTs, stating that the utility and value of the items should come from their use in-game.

He also added that anyone who owns Dissolution Founders Tokens (one of the in-game assets) (DFTs) can exchange them with the new ones by sending them to a specific address.

While Dissolution is leaving Enjin, the game remains on the Ethereum blockchain with its in-house developed backend and it was conventionally decided to use the ERC-1155 protocol.

Tokenomics

Dissolution (NFT Game) was built on the Ethereum blockchain using the EIP 1155 contract standard. Dissolution has no native token designed for its ecosystem but has in-game currencies developed for utilities within the game, having real-world value as they could be used within its game store.

In-Game Reward

There are two basic rewards for users when playing Dissolution

  • $DIS and $LP.
$DIS

DIS is the in-game currency that can be used to purchase anything in our store-front. Players can earn $DIS by playing Pvp, Player vs. environment, and eventually trading and mining in the MMORPG stage of the game. $DIS will also be an asset that can be withdrawn as an Ethereum ERC-20 token to store in your own wallet to eventually trade on exchanges.

$LP

$LP stands for Loyalty Points and will be awarded to players alongside $DIS token. $LP will unlock seasonal, time-limited items and skins on a milestone basis. LP resets every new season and seasonal rewards will never be redeemable again in the future.

Roadmap

Dissolution (NFT Game) has designated a long development (estimated 5 years) process for its gaming ecosystem to become a fully-fledged MMORPG. To achieve this, Dissolution (NFT Game) is implementing the following as its roadmap

  • Decided to separate the game's overall development process into 3 Main stages: FPS, Combined Arms, and Open World MMORPG.
  • Ensure that Each stage of development will be designed as a standalone title, so that if further development were to halt due to unexpected reasons,
  • Dissolution will still be playable in order to remain fair to any players who participate in our presales.

Currently, Dissolution is in the Alpha FPS stage of development.

  • Dissolution (NFT Game) is working on stabilizing the game's multiplayer netcode, stress-testing our servers, and doing security/bug testing with the Enjin blockchain backend.
