Started Homeschooling to Surf

At age 12, Brown dropped out of traditional middle school to be homeschooled, which allowed him to focus on his competitive surfing career, eventually winning the NSSA Gold Coast Men's Champion title.

Worked at Pershing Square

1st January 2014

At age 18, Brown moved to New York City to work at Bill Ackman's hedge fund, Pershing Square, where he was exposed to investments in large-scale new city developers.

Co-founded Praxis

1st January 2019

At age 23, Brown co-founded Praxis with Charlie Callinan. The project aims to build a new city, beginning as a digital nation and online community before developing a physical territory.

Named Thiel Fellow

1st June 2021

Dryden Brown was named a Thiel Fellow by The Thiel Foundation, a fellowship that awards $100,000 to young people who drop out of college to pursue entrepreneurial projects.
