Career

Hugh has a strong background in insurance. He is an actuary by trade and has worked for over 15 years in the Insurance industry, most recently as the Chief financial officer for Munich Re’s Life Operations in the United Kingdom.

I stumbled across Bitcoin at some point and thought the tech was interesting but recognized there wasn’t much to do – Payments weren’t really my thing.

Once Ethereum came along, he started paying attention. He was very cautious in his approach as he wanted to take a calculated approach to the legal & regulatory risks that were likely to arise.

Once the team found a comfortable model, they developed and eventually deployed it in late May 2019.^[3]

At TitleCFO Life he strategically focused on role managing around 30 finance individuals mainly comprised of actuaries, accountants and data analysts. n He also monitors and reports on the UK Life business’ financial position under IFRS, MCEV, Solvency II, and other reporting bases.

He evaluates and advise on ad-hoc business proposals, including business cases, potential investments, disposals as well as more regular commercial decisions.
