Jack Dishman is the co-founder and CEO of Clanker, a decentralized platform on Coinbase’s Layer 2 blockchain, Base, designed for creating and minting memes as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). His professional background spans software engineering, blockchain development, and entrepreneurship, supported by education and roles in financial and cryptocurrency sectors. [1] [5] [3] [6]
Jack Dishman earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Bristol (2017–2020). His coursework included artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software engineering. During his studies, he participated in projects involving neural networks and data-driven systems. [1] [2] [6]
Jack Dishman’s professional journey began in 2014 with foundational roles in software development and education. His early experiences in coding and technical problem-solving later evolved into a focus on blockchain applications.
Starting as an Instructor at Play-Well TEKnologies (2014), Dishman taught engineering concepts through LEGO-based projects. Concurrently, he worked as a Freelance Software Developer (2014–2017), building custom solutions for clients. During his undergraduate studies, he held part-time roles such as Information Desk Attendant at Santa Clara University (2017–2019) and Technical Intern at SapientRazorfish (2018), where he contributed to internal tools using React and Adobe Experience Manager.
In 2019, Dishman transitioned to full-time software engineering. As an Associate Software Development Engineer at Publicis Sapient (2019–2020), he developed frontend components for enterprise clients, adhering to agile workflows and accessibility standards. He later joined Extole as a Sales Engineer (2020–2021), integrating SaaS platforms for retail and financial clients using APIs and JavaScript libraries.
From 2021 to 2023, Dishman served as Lead Frontend Engineer at Capsule Social, leading the development of Blogchain.app, a decentralized blogging platform. The project utilized peer-to-peer storage (IPFS) and smart contracts on the NEAR Protocol blockchain to manage content and subscriptions. This role marked his initial integration of blockchain technology into social applications.
Subsequent positions included frontend engineering roles at Authentic (2023–2024) and Tokensoft (2024), where he contributed to undisclosed software projects. In late 2024, Dishman co-founded Clanker, a platform on Coinbase’s Base blockchain that enables AI-generated meme creation and NFT minting.
Dishman maintains a portfolio of open-source projects, including experiments with generative AI and on-chain identity protocols. He publishes technical writings on topics like zero-knowledge proofs and modular blockchain design. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]
