Norman Reed
Norman Reed is the former interim CEO of Binance.US, a US-based cryptocurrency exchange. He was the company's General Counsel and served as interim CEO of Binance US from September 2023 to March 2026. [1] [3]
Education
Norman Reed graduated from Ohio State University, with a bachelor’s degree in political science and later a master’s degree in history. After his master's degree, he completed his education at Columbia University, acquiring a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. [1]
Career
Norman Reed's professional career started at an international firm, working for 3 years before joining the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where he worked for 6 years and a half. During his time at the Federal Reserve Bank, he met Karen Gifford, Ripple Labs' Chief Compliance Officer at the time, who influenced him to start working at Ripple. After working at the Federal Reserve Bank, Norman worked at the SEC in the division of Trading and Markets until 2007 and joined Ripple Labs as their General Counsel in 2015. [1][2]

From December 2021 to September 2023, Norman Reed served as General Counsel at Binance.US, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges. In this capacity, he applied his legal expertise to shape Binance.US's legal framework and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. His strategic insights and understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem contribute to maintaining a secure and compliant trading environment for Binance.US users. In between September 2023 and March 2026 he was the company's interim CEO before the appointment of Stephen Gregory.
