Phantasma is designed to be a fast, secure, and scalable blockchain powered by the governance token SOUL and the energy token (KCAL) that allows for interoperability with other blockchains.^[1]

Protocol

Mainnet Launch

The Phantasma mainnet was launched in October of 2019. (SOUL) is the governance token and (KCAL) is the gas for Phantasma blockchain, generated by staking (SOUL). The KCAL token is used for transaction fees, deploying smart contracts, minting Non-Fungible Token (NFTs), making block producer selection, cosmic swaps, chat, email, and voting.

Staking

Users receive 0.002 KCAL /day for each staked (SOUL). 1 SOUL is the minimum amount a user can stake, for a minimum period of 24 hours. If they stake 50,000 SOUL, they receive 100 KCAL /day (3,000 KCAL /month).^[3]

Chain Swap

Holders of the SOUL governance token and KCAL energy token may swap them from Phantasma to other blockchains such as NEO and Ethereum (ETH). The same interoperability also applies to any non-fungible tokens (NFTs) created on Phantasma, NEO or Ethereum.^[1]

Sidechains

The Phantasma blockchain supports sidechains. The speed of each sidechain is 5,000 transaction per second. Phantasma was designed to scale infinitely and aims to be a scaling solution for other blockchains due to its interoperability.^[3]

Phantasma dApps

Among the Decentralized application (DApps) on the Phantasma chain are:

• Pavillion: Users are able buy, browse, trade and access on-chain assets for hosted titles. It also features connectivity to Steam.
• 22 Racing Series: Wipeout (series) meets Gran Turismo (series)
• Poltergeist wallet: A light wallet for the Phantasma blockchain featuring dual Neo and Phantasma wallets for quick and easy cross chain swaps
• Nacho Men: Crypto game where users trade, collect, and battle with Mexican wrestlers called “Luchadores".^[2]

GhostMarket

The GhostMarket is a cross-chain Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplace that features trustless NFT trading facilitated by smart contracts on each integrated blockchain.^[3]

Phantasma Mail

Phantasma Mail is a dApp that functions as an example of how users can send and receive emails to and from other Phantasma Mail users.^[1]

NFT Giveaways

On February 13, 2021, the project announced an NFT giveaway where users are able to win one of twenty NFTs created by cryptocurrency artist Igor Noronha on the Phantasma GhostMarket.^[1]
