Yoni Assia is an entrepreneur and investor known as the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the social investment and multi-asset brokerage company eToro. He is also the founder of the GoodDollar Foundation, a non-profit initiative focused on delivering universal basic income (UBI) through blockchain technology. Yoni Assia studied computer science and management through a combination of academic programs and professional certification. He earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Reichman University (2005–2007) after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Computer Science at Open University of Israel (2003–2005). Earlier, he obtained the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) credential from Microsoft in 1999. [1]
Assia co-founded and leads eToro, serving as chief executive since 2006 and overseeing the company’s strategy and operations. The platform was developed as a social investing network that enables users to access and share trading approaches across multiple asset classes. In 2018, he established the GoodDollar Foundation, a nonprofit initiative that explores digital asset mechanisms intended to support universal basic income distribution.
Earlier in his career, he co-founded WiTech Communications - CDRide and served as development manager (2003–2006). He previously worked as a programmer and project manager in the Israel Defense Forces (2000–2003). He has also served as a board member of Meitav Dash since 2013. [1]
